I see a few posts about slow/no crosses from BOS and Chair. I don't think it applies at all to Chair as per Antti's tweet midweek.

I think this essentially explains why stats have to be used with knowledge of what went on during the games, on its own that does look like Chair has been putting in a large number of chances for the Strikers.
Now he obviously has put in good balls that have either been squandered or not read properly but for me he has missed so many opportunities to get the ball in at the right time and then it's gone in too late, striker either having gone for the early ball or marked heavily. The ball has gone in but not at the optimum time, for those crosses I do think the stats lie unfortunately.
As said before, if he pissed about and had Charlie making runs he then never played the ball for he would be told in short order what was expected of him, any experienced striker with the ego CA has would do the same. Could be the making of him.

I’m fascinated by Clive’s ‘Mystery Box’ signing?!?!

I’ve basically narrowed it down to Eze returning on loan or Ivan Toney.

If only...

Probably more likely to be Jay Bothroyd or Frazier Campbell...

Well that’s two..........

The ridiculous handball against Watford. Inexplicable that he didn't get his nut on it.

A ball in from Willock against Watford I think where Dykes was caught on his heels.

The fact that Chair is creating so many chances coupled with Dykes only scoring ONE goal in open play in nigh on twenty games tells its own story.

They have been shockingly bad all season.

Still agree with Clive that Midfield is the bigger problem and targets should have been set before we got here.

Can we go out yet?
Poll: What would you take for Willock if a bid comes this month?

Good post as ever, Karl.
But he has put in crosses, and they have created chances.
But he's a central player (I feel) converted sometimes into a wide player. Naturally, he does tend to check back at times as per his training and muscle memory.
Still, he's created a shedload of chances while learning on the job.

I don't like criticism of Chair as he has done very well, I think I'm saying that if he had someone of experience on the pitch he would get better.
That, to be fair, is true of nearly every player and is something missing from the squad mix it seems.
I'm definitely of the mind that Charlie will be a good addition, he obviously has injury concerns but he's 31 and has been getting game time for WBA so it's not a ridiculous loan of an old player.

Would love this, mostly for nostalgic reasons. Best striker we’ve had since Les Ferdinand. Would be a pity if he doesn’t get to play in front of the fans though.

Fair enough.
I have no idea about the horse racing lad as I haven't seen him play for ages.
But I'm just sticking up for fur coat.

Are we clear, lad?

Can't beat a warm collar😂

Have seen CA coming off the bench and his condition would concern you in the showring!
However his ability to be in the right place goes without question and it would require the manager to make sure he picks the team that doesn't need him defending from the front.

While we are at it, why don't we bring back Ale Faurlin to sort out our midfield problems? I believe he may be a free agent at the moment.

Just wondering if the last 6 pages are on the strength of one Sky 'source' - or is there anything in it? if one was being cynical (who moi?) one could suggest that the club got Sky to run the story in order to gauge the reaction of the fan base versus potential bids for Murray / Rhodes. Result of poll: Rhodes would be given zero time to hit the ground running. Murray would be tolerated for 3-4 games. Austin - the return of the messiah - take all the time you need kid!

Couple of times I've seen Austin come on for West Brom this year, I think he looks f##ked....then I think from a sentimental point of view maybe it could work out at a lower level for him and us.

Think a deal for Murray is more sensible.

He looks like he is basically limping along or hopefully its his natural motion but he wont be getting any clean breakaways thats for sure .Last weeks game he played most of the second half I think and looked pretty bad.
However if we supply a lot of ball I know a big if he could grab a few goals and mentor the young strikers .I dont see him lasting the half season though

Surely not?

It'll make an absolute mockery of the decision to let Wells and Hugil go, but still, a bold gambit. That'd be something. I'd love to see it come off and save us, although it seems remarkably improbable.

I think he'd struggle without the presence of the Rangers fans to help inspire him.

The "Making do" attitude of Rangers fans is in overdrive.

'You didn't know that was wrong, but now you do. If you do it again, I'll know you are doing it on purpose.'

I'm not entirely sure what that means, so i may be mistaken, but It sounds like you are mocking the tenacious resilience of the QPR support. I'd have thought it's one thing we should all be remarkably proud of, all things considered?

Obviously we’d all like a Charlie Austin from around 2014 or 2015. Since then he’s had quite a few more injuries and has been earning big money.

He’s a likeable lad and would be a good influence on the team especially on the pitch and in the dressing room.

I am not sure if this will work out well for QPR.
I hope it does.

I am more worried about the money we have wasted in the summer from the Eze money.
Once again our recruiting has been very poor.
We are still weak at full back, central defence (although Dickie has been good), central midfield and up front.
When is the DoF going to be accountable for our ongoing poor recruiting and a strategy that seems to change every season (depending on our situation).
