Wow, thats some comedown for him. Must be desperate for some work! Be interesting to see if he's even worse at that level than he was in the top flight.

I listened to some radio sports programme a while ago on a long drive home where Hughes was interviewed and it was cringe how much he was angling for any kind of managerial job.

I just want to get back into football and I'd be interested in managing at any level, kinda thing.

I'm pretty sure he didn't mention QPR as part of his virtual job application.

All they need now is a sloshed Mark Bowen and they're well set.

Hasn't Mark Bowen interviewed himself for a coaching position yet?

This:
Everyone’s getting excited but this is another boo-boo. Him, Bruce, Pardew etc are all much of a muchness and I’ve sat back and watched their teams bumble around playing directionless football wondering how the fúck it is that they keep getting jobs.

He won’t be cheap, he knows fúck all about the lower leagues, his record is poor, he trades on his name and he’ll be working under one of the most half-ársed, amateurish regimes in professional football. We’ve been blinded by his name and the glamour of some of the clubs he’s managed but he’s just not a very good manager and he’s a bit dim.

We should have played safe, gone for an attacking manager with a reputation for playing the game the right way and promised no more than front foot football and having a really good go at teams next season. Instead we’ve been swayed by showbiz and appointed a guy who’ll fail and do it expensively.

This is a mistake and it’s one with nothing more than season ticket sales in mind.

Never got a team relegated

I reckon that gives him 11 or 12 games in charge

And Mark Hughes as well.

Surely this is a premature April 1st headline?

I reckon Bradford City are safe this year as they are 11 points clear of the bottom 3. But next year?

How long do we give him in the job? Gone before the end of next season is my bet with Bradford staring relegation in the face.

Bradford have had only one league home attendance of less than 14,000 this season, and draw more than three times the division average. He knows how to hoover money out of a club, but surely even he can't take them down.

well he can stand on their touchline, spending their chairman's; money by the truck load, pull the "what can i do face" as they slide to OBLIVION, as he has done at many clubs.

Will be interesting to see how he copes without with Zia K’s elderly battalion of Premiership all stars hanging off Bradford’s tits.

Could be the making of him.

Can anyone remember who it was who was interviewed and said that Hughes didn't talk to the players? Maybe Clint Hill? Or Hogan Ephraim?

Hughes warrants a thread-why exactly? The man's ego thrives on attention. Lett's give him the anonymity he deserves

I'd guess he's not a regular reader here.

he signed Rob Green and then a few days later signed Julio Cesar. When Green went to see talk to him about it, Hughes told him he could leave the club if he wanted.... meticulous.

@PinnerPaul 'Said it before, same with all managers some will like you some not.'

That's fine as a rule of thumb, but surely there are some managers who are much better at dealing with people (i.e. managing) than others?

Obviously, Ned might have been the only player who respected him for all we know, so yes agree with your point.
