If it was going to happen it was going to be after this game. I never like seeing people lose their jobs and GA is no exception. However, it's a cutthroat business and he can now reset and look after his mental health, hopefully. Now, it has to be short term survival ss the FFP is marginally better next year apparently and there's the new Sky deal too so avoiding relegation is a necessity.
I wish him well but he should never have been appointed in the first place, in my humble opinion. Thanks Gareth and we move on.

Whoever takes over is going to face exactly the same problem that GA faced - the squad is far too thin. Any injuries and suspensions expose our soft underbelly. Unless we can rectify this - and I don't see how we can given our financial situation - then we are almost 100% certain to go down. | | | |

Depends on how far they look ahead .

Rowett if they want to look at a longer plan .

Very much this, no cheering this decision although it is right one..
It was highly likely after the funding news.
I think that Gareth's appointment in the first place was a good shout given that Warburton, Beale and Critchley had all failed to fully motivate this squad. A fresh approach that did keep us up. If the Matrade announcement had been made in the close season then things could have worked out better for Gareth.
When the club says that an announcement is due in a couple of days I hope that announcement is about Gareth's replacement and that someone is in place for Saturday,

This bunch of players do have a lot to answer for but the real culprits are the board, the previous DOF, the recruitment team and the owners for letting this squad get so thin we are now facing a 6 pointer with no defenders and no midfield. (And no coaching staff).

Sorry to see a legend fail but the correct call has been made. He looked like a guy lost today to be honest. His programme notes about not being a quitter etc was a basically sack me or back me call. He’s a limited coach working above his level same as dobbo. We need a big reset now for me get Neil in he will kick them all up the arse and save us whilst we look for a new long term appointment. Similar to Huddersfield really. Those mentioning Rowett don’t forget it was les that wanted him on 2 occasions previously. Eustace fell out with board so highly doubt he will return same as warbs.
