For the life of me I could not see what Gerry Francis saw in Peter Crouch when we signed him. Thought he was woeful and looked like we'd stuck a shirt on one of the floodlights.

Been thinking about it.
I'd have to say Barker as well. I liked him as he worked so hard, and he did cost a lot of money and played for England U-21's, but it just didn't seem to be happening for him, and I think I gave up on him. Hands up.

Tony Sealy is a great shout. People seemed a bit offended that we signed someone a bit below our standard, but he had a crazy run in our promotion season when he wouldn’t stop scoring. Penrice was similar.

I completely agree with you. Zamora and Johnson were both poor at QPR. It was these kind of signings that underlined everything that was wrong with QPR in the PL. Had Bobby not scored that goal at Wembley he would be remembered for all the wrong reasons. |  | | |

Paul Furlong is the obvious example. He was always going to start on the back foot given his Chelsea connections. Initially, he didn't help his cause with some poor early performances but, boy, did he turn it around and then some. He now appears to be developing into a decent coach, with the development squad in particular going well this season under his charge. A consummate professional; it wouldn't surprise if at 55, the man still has a 6-pack! | | | |

For me it would be Matthew rose. He was a bit of a liability in terms of injuries and missing a lot of games. But I was a big fan after a while
A second was Chris kiwomya, I see a lot of people give him stick but I think he really came good for us at times, but perhaps I just have fond memories of his bizarre hatrick vs Crystal Palace!
