I think you'd keep EDB and Armstrong, maybe Field but who wants a CM who can't shoot properly.....

Willock would be a keep, obviously, but it's clear he's not signing.

I'd keep Field, EDB and Kakay on the basis that they're good enough for the roles we're asking them to play - Field as a starting defensive midfielder, EDB as a prospect, Kakay as a backup / squad player - and represent decent value compared to the players we'd need to bring in to replace them. Maybe Armstrong as well.

Ditch the rest: you don't renew a contract for the same money, and none of these players are worth what we're currently paying them now, let alone what we'd have to pay them to renew.

I'd agree with most of that.

Whilst I realise he is unlikely to sign, I'd definitely keep Willock if it was possible.

I'd still be happy with Kakay as cover with squad rotation requirements, but Marti clearly doesn't rate him so assume he will go.

I guess the big question would be who will be in goal if we are releasing Begovic and Archer.

Hopefully we can get a few contracted players out on loan also, and improve the squad that way.

If Chair’s legal position clears up in time and we get a reasonable offer I’d sell him this summer.
Marti needs to work out how to get the attacking half of the team to score goals and I don’t think Chair is part of the solution.

Yep, that works. Would obviously keep Willock if he were prepared to sign another contract. Will be interesting to see where the released players end up; like the ones released last summer, it's hard to see many getting anywhere like this level again.

Definitely keep Dunne (right back and possibly Declan Rice type DCM)
Armstrong... Keep but needs a lot more coaching
EDB definitely keep but I think he has another year and an extension option after that. He always looks decent and will get better.

I've seen Pedder in the dev squad a few times and I really think he is a player. Lovely passing skills and a lightning turn on the ball. Could be a break out season next time. Same for Kolli if we can get him fit again.

If we can stay up we need to try and keep Hayden.
Willock is a difficult one. If Chair actually serves time then it may be an idea to try and keep him?

Only change I would make to this is keep Willock

He is happy under Marti.

Absolutely not! He’s had mainly a terrible season and has been phoning it in for most of it, including recently. If the guy finally agrees to sign a contract on our affordable terms then ok, otherwise get rid.

I agree. He'd blow out of the water any wages we could offer for any other team players we wanted to attract and he's not the player he was two years ago.

The thing with kakay is, that for a 2nd/3rd choice right back he's fine. The problem is we have played him way to much.

Why does a club like qpr with our limited finances need a 3rd choice right back……especially one who will be 27 at start of next season.

i'd say no chance he's staying now Dunne is serviceable there and we have Cannon on a 4 year deal.

Kelman is 22 so he could improve and we may make some money. Unlikely…..but possible. If anyone can develop our players it’s Marti.

As we know Field is sorted, would give Dunne a new contract, hopefully EDB has signed a new one as well, but the big conundrum is Willock, personally feel if the mood music is right on both sides give him a new contract, he has looked much better under Marti. Hopefully Armstrong has a decent period on his contract left. All the others on the list should be released.

Bar Dunne and Armstrong theres not a single player on that list I'd offer another contract to.
They are either not good enough or mentally weak. As for Willock, he is either OK or bloody disinterested. Off you go son.

I *assume* the thinking was that if he went out on loan and tore it up we could get a fee for him this summer rather than just releasing him.

I imagine he’s pretty low on the wage list and I expect he will leave permanently this summer for a nominal ‘undisclosed fee’
