Noury you're a cnt (despite my outburst after Boro), and get out of our club.

But, the owners need to go. Death by a thousand cuts.

Unlike, it seems, a number on this board, I don't really care a jot about the 'who' behind postings here; I mostly just care about what's being said. Most of what I write reflects this, and is suitably resourced, as in my last post citing an interview Marti gave in August to try to challenge the misleading idea that he's been moaning abour recruitment since Reading. Just for once, it would be nice if actual counter-arguments like this were acknowledged. It would make the place seem a bit more adult.

When I think something wrong, I'll call it out with reasons. If my points are succcessfully counter-argued, I'm glad to accept it. Most of the time, however, I find they're not. The rest is, of course, speculation and opinion, which is what makes a superbly trivial board like this a chaotic kind of para-footballing fun - at least some of the time.

PS I'm sure this innocuous post will still elicit the priggish 'ignores' and supercilous sneers from the usual one or two, but it's really water off a duck's back.

I don't have any 'golden rules', so you're a self-justifying, over-generalising, caricaturing, wriggling-on-the-stick of your own words, sir! I'd say, of the two of us, all the evidence (self-righteousness, self-denial etc. etc) suggests you're the tacky narcissist.

An additional point I would repeat on this contract thing.

The contract was announced at the fan forum. Jake Clarke-Salter's contract was announced at the fan forum. Dembele making his move permanent "after passing the requisite number of appearances" (six at that stage).

Were all those deals done that Monday? That weekend? Is that Dembele thing even true?

The club have shown themselves untrustworthy under this CEO.

I first heard about Cifuentes getting a new contract at the end of June, when he was being half-heartedly linked with Burnley and quite heavily linked with Sunderland up there.

It is perfectly possible that deal was signed before the transfer window even really got going.

He was complaining about the recruitment as far back as Reading in pre-season.

Indeed. Dave Mac said a few weeks ago that he was entitled to the new deal for keeping us up, so it's difficult to conjure up a scenario where anyone would turn that down. If the club goes on to make a complete horlicks of the transfer window it's not his fault and when the inevitable happens he walks away with a better pay off. Good for him.

Isn't this the media creating something to fill space?

I hope the board keep the courage of their convictions and stick with Marti and Noury and give them the chance to turn around what has happened. I don't agree with view that many have on this board that Noury is an evil villain or that Marti is infallible.

I think we are desperately short of one thing ... We need Frey back as soon as possible and then someone needs to be working with Celar to fix his attitude and instill a work ethic into him. Didn't we employ a one to one coach or something over the summer? He should be working with Clear every second he can to get him to put the effort in. He obviously has some talent but we haven't seen it yet and his confidence must be shot to pieces.

Santos should be in the development squad and developing.

In the last game, it looked like Madsen showed signs of improving ... Now he needs to show his mettle and keep improving.

If there was only one problem we fixed it would be getting the stupid ball in the onion bag!

I don't think now is the time to sack anyone .. now is the time for everyone at the club to stand up and be counted. That includes the players, the coaches, the physios and the CEO.

I think they both need another transfer window and cup run. Look at the injuries- field is a defensive mid not a centre back - he does well there but weakens us more elsewhere. 1 fit striker who could not hit a barn door with a banjo - when you have no threat teams push up on you and inevitably score. If we get everyone back we end up 18th

If someone has got to this stage of their career playing a certain way a one to one chat isn't going to change their style of play. Just lousy and lazy recruitment. As we all know.

His body language, his tone during interviews and his reaction to the new signings on the touchline tell a very different story

of course in public he backed the new signings, he's not going to come out and slag them all off, he's still publicly backing them today

We were however far better for Lloyd and Morgan on instead of Madsen and Celar, so those worked. He's not exactly working with much from his bench is he?

Of course, obvious substitutions removing our two ineffectual players which helped build the momentum I was talking about. Then ten minutes later Smythe and a little later Field were removed which I thought lost us some momentum.

Someone suggested Smythe was injured though lets hope that isn't the case with Field as well. I guess we will find out on Wednesday night.

The last thing we need is Smyth out injured as well. Yes his end product often leaves a lot to be desired but he gives 100% commitment and always tries to make things happen. Opposition defenders always struggle against him. We lost momentum when he came off on Saturday.

I don't agree but what happens next is on Celar more than anyone else. Either he wants to become a better all round player and become successful or his career is downhill from here.

Other than Santos and Celar, the rest of the signings have shown glimpses (at the very least) of why they were signed and need to keep improving.

Santos is a different proposition because he is, at best, our third choice right-back at the moment so should have the benefit of being given time to develop.

Other than those two, which of the first-team squad signings do you think have not demonstrated (at least once)! why they were signed?

In my opinion, the biggest problem this season has been how slowly we move the ball forward. That is not a recruitment problem but a coaching problem.

We've moved the ball fine. We have created more than enough, in enough games to win enough games to be around 16th ish. We created some great shooting opportunities and great openings on Saturday.

Individual errors and missing high xG chances are the two reasons we are where we are. But that's the cause.

The symptoms is that the squad that's been put together doesn't have the depth or quality required to compete and now we have injuries on top of that which has highlighted the issue even more.

How does Nourry turn around what's happened? Relative to our turnover we spent big this summer, largely enabled by a couple of years of forced austerity. In Celar and Madsen in particular it feels like we won't be making any or much of it back.

I'm not just dismayed and angered by the poor quality of the squad, it's also what that spend will do to us in a three year P&S cycle. You just can't throw good money after bad hoping it goes better next time, the rules don't allow for it. If that window ends up being as bad as it looks right now, it'll dent our ability to put a squad together for three years. You can't just shrug it off and have another go.

Just to pile on even more misery, it's looking rather like we'll be in a position come next summer that those P&S rules won't apply to us in League One yet we'll have to cut our cloth with the expectation that they will once again come 2026 or 2027. Are we really going to trust the guy that oversaw this Kwarteng-esque window with an even more complicated situation next year?

And that's not even touching upon the look and feel of the place and the feeling of being a fan within his stewardship or the fact that half our squad is injured and our Performance Director is literally in Dubai.

I don't want to be overtly negative or pin everything on one man but ultimately he's overseen everything and signed off on the recruitment, the Performance Directorship, the 'Game Model' and now large swathes of the fans have got the hump with the communication, the previous miracle performing Head Coach looks completely exasperated and we're the worst team in the league. Prior to that window our form showed us to be in the top 10.

He's simply severed so many positive threads in such a short space of time. I wouldn't trust him with a single decision, a single strategy or a single cheque. Let alone let him navigate through the next complicated crisis that he's created himself. This summer was so poor in so many ways I can't see how he can fix what's now done, nor how his position is still tenable.
