Brain dead decisions made by so called professionals footballers . Ipswich are good , very good but why do we make it easy for them. Will be there on Wednesday against another lot looking for a lift from their current demise. I won’t be staying till the end if were 4.1 down by the 65 th minute. I have a forty minute drive home and work the next day .

I find the quality of your reports goes from 'very good' to 'Excellent' as our performance levels on the pitch (and in the dugout) drop significantly. Your pain and frustration comes through loud and clear in your writing and is totally relatable. Loved the lines 'Esquerdinga and Egeli got on like a house on fire all afternoon. Esquerdinha was the house, and Egeli was the fire' and the 'privet hedge' reference. Let's hope for a lot less pain in the midweek Southampton report. One minor query - didn't Mbengue get a yellow card too? (Doesn't he always!) [Post edited 2 Nov 19:39]

| Town’s four-star Halloween fright night leaves Rangers reeling – Report on 20:09 - Nov 2 with 6002 views | rbee | I can't bring myself to watch Julien Stéphan's post match interview. If he thought that we were good for an hour then he should have specified at what exactly. If he meant making Ipswich look like Coventry City and gift wrapping them their first away win then he is spot on. If he is talking about playing football then I would counter his hour with twenty minutes at the end of the first half. Any second half momentum we might have had was batted over the Stanley Bowles Stand after two minutes with a beautiful cover drive. Mr Nourry needs to have a word. | | | |

I would like Jules to prove me wrong but so far I am a bit underwhelmed by his tinkering with the team.

And they are all UK as well. Could just be coincidence that they are all doing so well...whilst we keep on picking coaches from Nourry's spreadsheet.

This is probably why Julien is a Head Coach and not a Manager. He made a pigs ear of managing his team yesterday.

We made it very, very clear we weren’t looking for a “manager”. They wanted a coach.

| Town’s four-star Halloween fright night leaves Rangers reeling – Report on 21:51 - Nov 2 with 5351 views | Burnleyhoop | You have to wonder why Ipswich (and Leicester/ Southampton ) have struggled so much this season. My belief is that opposition teams simply do not allow them to play. They press, they harry and physically overwhelm them and give them no time. We are simply not capable of that side of the game and remain far too easy and open to play against. Absolutely weak as piss. Add to that the constant basic schoolboy errors and amateur hour decision making and you get what we saw on Saturday. Our only outlet is the pace we have to pin teams back, none of which was available due to an utterly bizarre team selection. SJ needs to wake up and smell the coffee, otherwise the natives will be on his back if this rotation nonsense continues. Southampton sacking their manager today is probably not the best news for us either. | | | |

Let’s adapt a bit. It’s not like we don’t have the players this season.

This and the Derby game we might as well have not bothered. Gifting goals all over the pitch. Pathetic. This constant rotation is causing problems and the failure to get a CM is now starting to bite. Good match report. And I left after the 4th went it. Got home and watched Downton Abbey which had more excitement that watching Rangers.

| Town’s four-star Halloween fright night leaves Rangers reeling – Report on 09:30 - Nov 3 with 4280 views | TheChef | Most bemusing thing about all this is that, regardless of who the manager is, this team continues to go on boom-bust runs. We're either great for a few games, or terrible for a few games, but rarely anything in between. Feels like it's been this way ever since we came back to the Championship. I mean, is it just us? Do other teams have a similar pattern of results? I mean, at least the mid table dross teams. Teams at the top or bottom I'd assume are for more consistent in their winning and losing. | |

| Town’s four-star Halloween fright night leaves Rangers reeling – Report on 10:12 - Nov 3 with 4135 views | dm97 | Left at 85 not 65, mainly because it started to rain again. Not sure any of the players in our squad are able to score or assist those 4 goals. They are a much better team and a better manager. I don’t think the performance was as bad as some on here seem to, they just punished every mistake we made (which was a nice selection for them to choose from). Agree the LB call was absurd. One in the eye for “play Esq” ideas. But if you think RND changes the score line much that’s also very charitable. Stéphan wasn’t a crap appointment after Coventry, then an inspired one after oct int break, now a crap one again. | | | |
| Town’s four-star Halloween fright night leaves Rangers reeling – Report on 12:21 - Nov 3 with 3781 views | StrawberryHillR | It was a weird game. After we equalised they were rattled and at half time I thought they were there for the taking, but their second goal completely changed it. Esquardinha had been pretty good at Bristol City but letting the winger run past you in their first attack for the opener must have scrambled his brain, hence the absurd shot just before half time. Ipswich looked like what they were, an expensively-assembled side who played to a level you'd expect once they had a bit of confidence. I thought Philogene was a joy to watch, some lovely touches. | | | |
| Town’s four-star Halloween fright night leaves Rangers reeling – Report on 14:48 - Nov 3 with 3463 views | bosh67 | Very good as always Clive. Hirst apparently also cost them the thick end of £17m I believe so their team must have a value of well over the £100m mark? That seemed to feel very apparent. I think a lot of us forget that we are buying from League One! Kone, Burrell, *Dembele, Poku, Mbengue etc all bought from lower leagues. We're shopping in Costco not Harrods. That said we need to give these players proper time. Burrell looks the most comfortable with the step up by some distance, and a very solid buy. *I don't think we can judge Dembele based on last season's horror injury record. Kone seems to be haunted by the footballing ghost of Lyndon Dykes. In his first 4-5 appearance he didn't think too hard, just tried to be instinctive and it worked. In the last 5-6 games it feels like he's been told to think more and that hasn't worked. Given that Hirst played a proper number 9 role for Ipswich it is really odd that we've sized up Kone and thought, let's not make him a Ferdinand number 9, let's try and make him play the Stan Bowles 10 role. Just cannot work. He's been over used as well in his first Championship season and perhaps needs to be one coming off the bench sometimes as a proper 9. It's weird, for once we have a fairly decent squad and yet the fact that we have a decent squad is throwing up it's own issues. What's Bob Malcolm doing these days? [Post edited 3 Nov 14:49]

| Town’s four-star Halloween fright night leaves Rangers reeling – Report on 15:41 - Nov 3 with 3352 views | M40R | As well as the left back being too raw, it did not help that Chair was presumably the covering midfielder. As soon as I saw the selection I said to be son we are in trouble on the left. Just surprised only the two goals came down that side. A pacey winger like Smyth would have helped. In fact, it's hard to see how to pick Chair with two up front, as he can't cover a full back and would make a two man midfield too puny. Hope the manager learns from this. | | | |

When they announce the line up, they could just add a provisional yellow next to his name, TBC with the minute it was awarded.
