131 page Cifuentes OUT thread on this Leicester forum!

https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/138179-cifuentes-out/page/131/#comments

This is not a Marti bashing thread, just interested in the Leicester fans responses. Similar issues that we had, questions about the owners, players not invested, despairing at style of play etc. Should Leicester be doing better or are their fans just entitled?

I don't feel we saw the best of Marti and would be interested to see how he would have done with our current squad.

Looking forward to our home match with them, Nourry will want to prove a point, as I expect Marti and Julien will.

Leicester fans have long seemed entitled to me, even before they won the “EPL”

Maybe the product of a single team city? Dunno but they’re not for me Clive

Shame this.

Would love to hear the full story of what happened in his own words one day.

Bar one season they've been crap for years with the same group of players, but its definitely all the managers they keep sacking every 6 months fault.

They've got a squad full of losers, used to losing, who enjoy the money but aren't up for any sort of fight. They can keep sacking managers every 6 months for the next 5 years if they want but it won't make them any better whilst they remain with the same squad.

They need a proper summer of 20 out and 20 in to completely revitalise the mentality of the place, but the squad they've got are all paid so much money they'd never be able to shift them until their contracts run out as no-one else will want to take the burden and the players don't want to give the money up.

Ah well, their problem, not ours!

I saw on the Twitter one fan say they're the 5th most successful club of the last 25 years, having won all the domestic trophies. Had a bit of a double take, but it's true!

Some other fans suggesting the players aren't putting the effort in and generally the club is not in a great way, so any manager would struggle to do well currently.

Add to this an incoming points deduction of between 6-12 points will mean that they could be in the relegation zone by the end of this week.

This is it. Would be good to hear the other side of the story. As we know, owners aren't always the best at communicating and fans are left to speculate.

Not that what he’d say about it would necessarily be entirely true; everyone spins a story to make themselves look better.

I wonder if he's signed a NDA.

"CN hated me. I hated CN."

I don't think it's much more than that?

I don't disagree with that, but it's still worth hearing his side of the story.

It would seem like the kind of thing Nourry would do. NDA aside, I don't think Marti would come out and say anything, not yet anyway.

That said, I don't think there's a major scandal waiting to be revealed.

Isn't his MO moving on to a bigger club/league after a couple of years? Will be interesting how he responds to a sacking.

That looks a horribly difficult job, huge expectatios but not a particualy great squad and haven't really added many players

I think he'll be gone before we play them

A good mate of mine is a Leicester s/t holder. The whole place is a massive bin fire.

Many of the mistakes other clubs have made in recent years just on a much larger scale.

Particularly the matter of throwing ever larger sums of money at random players hoping against hope that that will make all the other problems go away.

As if that wasn't bad enough they then tried to fiddle the books in broad daylight and hide behind ridiculously flimsy legal excuses.

Forest with knobs on.

Had a look through the last couple of pages. Lots of expectant “should be in the top 3” comments while only one dared to mention the impending points deduction.

Marti did well to get that job but it did seem to be an odd appointment on their part. I just assumed they expected to get docked a dozen points and saw the miracles he performed with us in keeping us up.

I need a SAGA. What’s the SAGA? It’s ….. Queen’s Park Rangers.

Well he was gagged while here so you can take that to the bank.

Expectations high but his squad is top 6 minimum in my view.

A Leicester fan at work has said that for all the famous names in their squad, they’ve been fluking some of their wins despite terrible performances. Between the ownership and the FFP penalty hanging over them, it’s a bin fire behind the scenes about to get worse. Ironically they might get rid of Marti just when he’d come into his own as a firefighter.

Can they afford to pay him off and recruit a new manager?

100% it’s still a top 4 squad IMO with a number of excellent young players coming through and the bookies’ pre season odds reflected this.
He’s struggling to get points or win the fans over with his playing style.

Two wins and the right results elsewhere and he could be third.

That's the case for about a dozen teams though to be fair.
