According to West London Sport, Daniel Bennie is in contention to play a part in the first team after Burrell's injury. Interesting as he was linked with League one loans just this week.

That's it support a 19yo when he gets a chance.

He's powerful, got an eye for goal, he's young and he's ours. Let's right him off though.

I'm just a realist. Nothing to do with not supporting him. Of course I want to see every QPR player go out there and score a hat trick every week.

I've said it previously and I will say it again that players like Bennie need to go out and play men's football in the lower leagues. When they do this, they seem to be more successful for us. Admittedly not in each and every case though but you can certainly look at the likes of Dieng, Furlong, Eze and Chair.

Poll: Are we staying up?

he needs to go out

but while i'm here, can anybody hand on heart explain what his position is. for me he's not a wide player (too slow and not tricky), he's not a midfielder and doesn't have either the guile, or hunger and aggression to play upfront at this level. he just seems to wander around and get the odd tap in.

not writing, or slagging him off, but I don't want to pay to watch him every week while he's at the level he is. Not fair to him, or us. try your trade at a lower level, and if you don't progress consider whether English football is for you. That's where I am

I don't know either. I've posted as much, too.
I've streamed quite a few of his Dev Squad games and I'm still undecided.

We cannot as a club say we want to develop players and give youth a chance, when presented with an injury list then say send him out in on loan and get someone else in.

When we signed Chris Martin Clive pointed out how absurd it was that we didn’t have any kids in the building capable of filling in for a few weeks. Now we have Kolli and another - so you bloody play them and see.

We’re not gonna go up, we’re quickly getting to a comfortable point to try some of these guys out. Win win

100%.

The negativity of some on here is nuts. We have to play these guys to find out if they can step up, if we don't try, well we can go sign another Washington, Bonne, Dykes etc etc.

What could be better than watching Kolli and Bennie up top in a game? Cost us naff all, but could make us £m.

100% agreed (except for the bit about not going up - I;m not ready to give up on that yet! ).

Bennie is, in the opinion of many posters who attend Dev Squad games, our best performer from that squad. We have a shed load of injuries. We have to go to him.

I get the opinion that he needs a loan, but that ship has probably sailed, at least for now.

Yes, I fear this is the club already PRing the selection on Sunday. Bennie as the lone striker, Frey on the bench.

Please let it not be so.

Just no that's absolutely awful

I'm actually excited that Bennie and Kolli may get their chance. I've seen Bennie play in the Dev squad and he really is a cut above. Like Kolli he knows where the goal is and like Burrell he has lightning pace. I think he could be an unexpected star.

Never knowingly right.

There's a report that Wycombe, who were interested in a loan deal, have accepted that QPR want to keep hold of him. With Burrell out until end of March, we're short on numbers up front. Frey has looked a long way short this season and appears to be on his way out of our club.

AFAIK, Bennie is a decent athlete, and seems to have a.knack.of picking up goals. At 19, he deserves a go. Probably as back up to Kolli, who'll probably not last more than 70 minutes.

He doesn’t have one. And that’s always a problem.

He played mostly as a wide midfielder in Australia but is versatile and often used as a striker.

He is being variously described as too slow and lightening fast by people who have watched DS games. Appreciate Footballs a game of opinions - but surely there must be a consensus on whether he can run quickly? Be good to know as Burrell’s ability to stretch play/terrify defenders has been a massive plus.

If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled. PG Wodehouse

I like him too Bosh, doesn’t look that quick (as Burrell) to me but my eyes are getting old and bent.

He’d be well ahead of Frey for me and definitely good back up for Kone and Kolli from the bench.

Versatile enough to play other positions as we kill even more players to death at home each week too.

Pearman is currently away with the Australian U23 squad at the AFC U23 Asian Cup.

Sutton has just returned from a loan at Morecombe.

Akindileni has not been anywhere. Played in the DS's 1-1 draw with Manchester City U21s on Tuesday afternoon.

Used in an attacking role several times last year and did absolutely nothing to want me to see him out there again. Not bad, just anonymous. 19 I know, but you knew the likes of Morgan and Kolli were on the pitch at the same age.
I’m really not writing him off, he just isn’t ready for this level at this moment in time IMO.

He’s not half the player Kolli is and probably shouldn’t be used in the same sentence

Daniel Bennie on 21:08 - Jan 8 with 931 viewsLogman

He's much more orthodox than many of our attacking players. The one strength he has got is his physical strength. He makes significant progress against U21 defenders due to his strength and he isn't scared to battle 1st team defenders in 50:50's. Plus he can get a shot away. In a year or two he is going to be a useful target man and front runner.

I have nothing more to add, other than Bennie was apparently a few years ahead of my nephew at school, which obviously matters very little.

If you think it’s a problem working out where Bennie plays you should try it for Harvey Vale because I really have no idea.
