Says will know more about a timeframe for Dembele in 48 hours and also doesn’t know when Obikwu will be available.

Perhaps we should try and get that lad Sam Field in on loan to cover them?

Never knowingly right.

I get the feeling our players get their hamstrings from Temu?

Are the training ground pitches laid by the same people as put down the LR pitch?

Shame about Obikwu.

I think we'll manage OK without Dembele.

So...

Kone
Smyth Vale Saito
Madsen Hayden
RND Cook Dunne Mbengue / Edwards
Walsh

A decent XI but not too much on the bench to change up the attack...just Kolli, Morgan and Bennie?

I guess there's the Esq and Adamson non-inverse (verse?) wing experiment too which was ok for 10 mins when they did it once before.

Obikwu wasnt injured at the time of signing. Three days and one training session later he picks up a knock.

Said to possibly available for Coventry game, as opposed to the company line now, we have no idea as to when he will be able to join in at training.

Maybe he needs to give training a miss, as we dont want him picking up another injury.

Wouldnt normally believe such things but this is QPR, we are talking about here.

Not sure that any conspiracy theories apply to Dembele. He twisted his knee in a challenge and could hardly walk afterwards so just one of those things. Obikwu more annoying.

I'd be happy to never see Dumbele pull on a QPR shirt ever again based on his time here to date - you are right.

If we had a fit Chair and Saito his injury wouldn't even register.

The classic is the new kid.
I mean even Richard Ord managed 12 minutes of a pre-season friendly after signing (for a club he really didn't want to sign for).

The whole fitness position at the club is now beyond a joke as are the updates with the roulette wheel of "expected back dates"

Both the training ground groundsmen and the Loftus Road groundsmen (and sub contractors) report to one “Head of Sporting Operations” who has a background in cycling fitness. He oversees everything regards maximising our performance.

I know I keep flagging this, but it seems utterly mind boggling to me that the areas failing the most at present seem to report to him, and that his background does not appear to qualify him for the role he is in, at a football club.

It feels the most obvious role/area for attention at the club.

I expect the club to tell us all why this thinking is entirely mistaken and he’s actually one of the best in the league though…

Can’t argue with any of that. We can’t hope to progress unless we sort this area out.

I am quite excited about Obikwu, not because I have seen him play, but if he's injured when we sign him, then he might be quite good as that's the QPR way.

zzzzzzzzzz

At least Six of those players you list will be on the Injured list by this Thursday evening.

Our Physio was Injured this morning as he was preparing the treatment table, apparently he (the Physio) was crushed when one of the treatment table's legs collapsed whilst he (the Physio) was taking a short nap on It.

Crutches for goal posts etcetera--etcetera..............

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Obikwu being both 6'4" and rapid doesn't bode well for me. That's a build that usually results in lots of knee injuries.

Thus far we've avoided a Kevin Beattie style self-inflicted injury, but how long can that luck last?

(from Wikipedia)

"The 1976–77 season started well for Ipswich with victories over Liverpool and Manchester United. Ipswich then achieved a club record-equalling 7–0 win over West Bromwich Albion: the Albion goalkeeper John Osborne said of Beattie's long-range goal that he regarded himself as fortunate he had not touched it as it would have knocked his hand off.[35] Beattie's season was prematurely curtailed by a self-inflicted injury:[36] stoking a bonfire at his home, he decided to add petrol; the ensuing flare-up gave him serious burns to his face and neck,[37] leading to him missing six matches.[16] Before the injury, Ipswich were challenging for the league title, but, in Beattie's absence, the side lost four of their last six matches and missed out on winning the championship by five points."

Bring back a Prav style page in the programme. We always knew how Matty Rose's knees were in those days

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

I used to think the same about Danny Shittu and his knees but it was rare for him to be unavailable.

Obikwu's injury is just typical QPR these days, ridiculous.

Not heard of any problems at the training ground.

Unfortunately it's all to do with the base that you are starting with and Loftus Road has always had the same drainage issues and lack of sunlight under the Ellerslie Road Stand.

Years ago where I lived the back garden was mainly clay. I dug the borders out quiet deep, very hard work, and laid some lovely new soil down. Over the course of the next year the lovely new soil filtered down through the clay and I was back to square one.

Meanwhile, 4ft 6 winger, Paul Smith, has been deployed to continuously try and flatten the pitch for 6ft 4 new signing and avoid further injuries at HQ.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

That definitely trumps the Dave Beasant salad cream incident. The moral of the story is keep Yellow Jersey Ben away from fireworks, condiments and vacuum cleaners.

I'd go further: all sharp objects to be removed from the training ground and players must in no circumstances be permitted to use stairs. Goal posts to be clad in scaffold foam.
