But I am more concerned about the 2 easier chances that he missed.
We could have been in plus goal difference.
Which could matter if we are in the mix at the end of the season.
It would be heartbreaking if we got the points then missed out by a couple of goals.

I actually think there’s huge potential here. I really like the clever touches and flicks. Obviously helps that he scored the one he did..by the way, that was a really good finish, but the cheeky flick over the keeper would have been awesome..and great fun. Really not a cause for concern. Took his goal expertly and his finish v Coventry was top drawer. Important to focus on the positives I think, without looking for perceived negatives. Plenty real ones will come along in due course. | | | |

His big miss, he will learn from, next time he will smash that and not lift it.
So, he learned a valuable lesson in the game we won anyway, and he scored in any way.
In addition to his decent hold-up play, he won a few more headers (so getting better at that), and his close control was excellent. In the 2nd half, he started to put some passes together with Kohli. If he keeps playing like that, he will score more goals. This player is a find and only at 22.
I am hoping Obikwu comes good over time, as there is no way we shall be able to hold onto Kone, he is going to be a big player for us next season. |  |

In September he looked like he might easily get to 15-20+ this year. Obviously not quite gone like that, but as a striker and a striking presence he is a million times better than anything we've had in recent seasons. Armstrong, Celar, Dykes, Frey, all of them nowhere near as good as Kone and Burrell have been.
The chip yesterday he'd have been better off smashing through like he did at Bristol City. Didn't get to him though and his eventual goal was a real fine finish.
Him & Burrell been real pluses this year.
Poor Marti must have been looking at them two when we tore Leicester a new one thinking "why the hell didn't I get to work with these two?!" [Post edited 22 Feb 17:59]

Reality is that you won’t have to worry about being in the mix at the end of the season.
As has been said elsewhere he is the best goal scorer we have had in a Rangers shirt since Charlie Austin.
All decent strikers miss golden chances but it is how many of them that they actually score that make them that little bit different. He will get far more than he misses - as for a top six finish by the team this season they are too inconsistent to achieve that. |  |

I agree with the original poster’s sentiment that you always want more of a good thing.
Everyone would love to have a genuine 10+ goal a striker and we might have two on our hands. Chances and goals seem to have come easier to Rumarn for a multitude of reasons but I have faith that Kone will get there too (and that’s not to say i’m not already loving him). |  | | |

Juat looked at the number of goals scored by the highest-scoring forwards in the championship to date. Vipotnik aside, whose 16 goals have all been without penalties, Kone compares favourably with the likes of H Wright, A Armstrong and McBurnie in the absence of penalties scored. All of whom would be on 10 goals.
Kone now has 7 goals in the league and this is his first season at this level, which is in contrast to the wealth of championship experience of the three mentioned above. A forward who is blessed with the knack of positioning himself in the right areas and is very rarely on his heels like Dykes was. Naturally, he like Burrell, will miss some scoring opportunities.
His ceiling for further growth is high, and he will get a lot better. To think Burrell, injury aside, could be close to mapping the achievements of Vipotnik too, tells me that we have two good forwards on our hands and this bodes well for next season. [Post edited 22 Feb 21:32]

Agree with the majority on here think we did a great bit of business with both Kone and Burrell....
17 goals and 5/6 assists between them, in their first season in a higher league is nothing short of a fantastic return.
I have a real feeling though we could very well loose Kone this summer.... I rate him a better prospect for higher clubs...... as said on the thread let's enjoy having the lad while he is here... | | | |

It’s tough watching a new kid stepping up isn’t it. Like watching your kid who’s too good for his own age group but struggles up a level (and you hear people around you moaning). Then you see them do something good and your pride comes out and it’s “fck it, there you go”.
Kone is adjusting. He’s doing some really good work in patches. You can see he’s a finisher. Deft touches to make opportunities for others. You feel his second season will see him move up. If there’s any concern it’s his pace, sometimes I think time has slowed down, but with Rumarn all he needs to do is find the right place to be and he’ll get his opportunities. Know where Vale is going to find the space and be there. See Koki heading for the by-line and get in the box pronto.

While the queries raised about Kone have mainly been valid, I think the OP's are a tad harsh. I don't think anyone will come in for him yet, just too raw for the higher ups, but with the right inputs from QPR and full application from Kone, this time next year we could be debating who his future employers might be.
However, if Buzz comes back firing, that same debate may well be taking place over the summer.
For a club with one decent purchase of a striker in nigh on 20 years (Austin One), the acquisition if Kone and Buzz have been really encouraging. Credit to the Rangers here. |  |
