Sign youngish players with bad injury records on the cheap or for nothing, double up at every position, and when they get injured, hope the replacement can step in long enough for the original player to recover and return.
You see, if you give up and expect to get injuries to key players anyway, then what does it matter if you sign a load of young (this is the key part) freebies with bad injury records? As we get injuries no matter who they are.
And you never know, just like Field, one day they may actually shrug off their injury records (don't laugh at the back there, it disrupts the people laughing at the front).

Not sure what will happen with Kolli, Lloyd and Obikwu. Can't believe all three of them will be in our squad for the entire season.
Do we need anothet centre mid - in an ideal world, I guess. Madsen, Varane, Morgan, Kamara, Isak, and maybe Edwards / Cirkin have abilities to play there also.

I guess they're OK with signing potentially injured players knowing that we have very solid players in those positions already. If we didn't see a minute out of Lamptey or Cirkin then we would still have Kemper and Mbengue.
We've gone from fullback being a problem position to having a problem getting them all on the field! Can't argue with the progress though I'll wait for Clive's assessment

He played 39 games, including all the play off matches, in their promotion year & there is only 1 season that he made limited appearances. He also played in all 3 play off games when they were promoted to The Championship.
I would say that he ticks the box for Championship experience & has been promoted 2 times. I don't see a problem with injury in his career & Sunderland apparently didn't want to lose him, but respected that he wanted to play rather than be just a squad member.
Of course, that doesn't mean that he won't get injured playing for us!

Last season Cirkin missed 11 games through injury, one being a broken thumb and the other unknown. He had 11 games on the bench without being played and 10 games not picked for the matchday squad.

Which leads nicely on how I think Kone should be played: reduce the need for him to play football and tell him focus on being a right niggling pain in the butt for whomever is marking him, and just make himself available in the box to get on the end of things.
That's it! Plain and simple: annoy your marker, and focus on scoring. Of course, he will need to be feed a bone and that's part of each teammate's joc spec.

There was a Montpellier fan on X telling us to give up on him so presumably either Montpellier or the player are reluctant.

I think he could do well. I think out of Admason, Bennie and himself, he could be the best one of the three.
Whether he can make it at our level is another question, but feel Swindon, he could go well and improve his profile. Am glad some of our younger players aee getting loans where they have the chance to improve.
I know it is not popular on here to praise the hierarchy too much but between Belk, Nourry and Stephan i think they are doing a decent job in recruitment in both directions.
This next season seems to have greater relevance to how well they are doing, so guessing we will all know soon enough.

I’d have to disagree I think Bennie will have a better career in English football, Permian can score goals at dev level but his overall game isn’t great maybe a loan will help hi. Get there but from seeing both in action Bennie is well ahead of Permian in development

Maybe. Bennie has a physical presence but still feel even he doesn't know where he should play. Think Bennie ie definitely ahead of the other two currently - probably would be a steady league two player as is, but see what happens for him up in Scotland. Think also is a very good loan move for himself.
When are we signing Willy Small Bone? Free. Missed a lot of last season with injury. Did an ACL a few years ago. But played 40 games in a promotion winning midfield in living memory. And versatile (or is it bald) as an egg.
