Players might have signed specific NDAs, yes.
However most employees simply have confidentiality clauses in their employment contracts. They tend to be less thorough. And also, employees with long service often have old employment contracts with weaker confidentiality restrictions, unless the club has done a forced upgrade on everyoneâs employment contracts, which I very much doubt given the âfootball sideâ focus from those at the top.
And on top of all of this, people are human. Many donât actually read their employment contracts in full. Many donât understand what their confidentiality clauses actually mean (given the needlessly overcomplicated legal prose). So it doesnât stop them talking.
And finally, how does anyone get in trouble for breaching their NDA or confidentiality clauses if no one tells anyone who their sources are? Perhaps itâs one of the reasons no one does say on a public forum where they have heard things from.
NDAs and confidentiality clauses are there to deter leaks. They arenât and never have been in any sector 100% effective.
On the flip side, of course some people make stuff up. So itâs a personal decision as to what to believe. Iâm just not sure NDAs are the key factor in making that decision. |  | | |

NDAs are absolutely worthless in a business context. Unless you are CEO, you can rest easy and speak freely, in the vast majority of businesses. Simply the legal fees and rigmarole needed to prove the case, if there is one (there isnât), isnât worth it. Its chief fear mongering used as a psychological deterrent. [Post edited 28 Jul 22:47]

Obviously thereâs certain NDAs in place for highly critical information, but often the club will heavily pressure what or when you put stuff out.
For example, if youâre moving to a new club you might get told what they want you to put in your caption.
So you might get a message saying:
âHi Jordan if you could mention:
- the history of the club
- how excited he is to play at X stadium
- what a big season this could beâ
You also get messages post match, so maybe thereâs been an awful decision or maybe the manager has said no one to post on social media. Thatâs also actually quite frequent after a crap performance.
Sometimes the club will send the player 3 captions he can choose from for major news although this happens more with image right and if the club owns a percentage as that gives them more leverage to have an opinion.
For a major transfer to a global club, youâd be amazed at the schedule, size of the shoots, rollout strategy, captions, posts. Iâve had it before where a player has done a 10 hour shoot and hasnât even signed the contract officially yet.
Another example recently where a Premier League club released a statement that said âafter a long discussion with the manager, X has decided not to have surgeryâ which leaves you between a rock and a hard place.
Then youâll often get a HoC askinf you to remove or take down the post if itâs a bit flammable, but sometimes you might not see this until a few hours later and then the damage is already done which is so unfortunate.

Can't offer any news on Kone or Madsen, but was very taken by the idea of a personality cult based (presumably) around Clive. If it's going ahead I would willingly sell my home and cash in all my savings as an ardent disciple.
Let's face it - Clive foresaw the arrival of the Great Marti (not only by name but as I recall he even predicted the correct month of his arrival). His knowledge of all things QPR is unsurpassed (except injury updates and contract lengths, obviously).
Anyway, in these days of increased living costs, communal living has to be considered for its merits. We could scope out some cheap land (Blandford Forum sounds particularly suitable) and then set up camp (literally to start with before we build a statue of Clive and a main administrative centre).
Disciples (Loftites) could spend the days working on organic cheeses. Beckenham Hoop would by invited in the spirit of love and friendship to run the brewery (Beckenham's Bitter) whilst Disco would operate as a kind of Shaman / Faith Healer by distributing a wide range of beneficial herbs. Konk could reside in a nearby 'cottage' and attend certain events as an honorary Loftite.
On matchdays, a fleet of coaches can transport us to HQ with Clive leading the march, resplendent in a gold carriage drawn by a few most favoured Loftites up the Uxbridge Rd.
Hell, cone to think of it, with most of the club's fanbase at Camp Clive, QPR could just relocate and build a new stadium within the commune - complete with more legroom and working hand driers.
All in all - I think you'll agree - a sound proposal for all posters to come together and a fitting tribute to the undisputed King of LFW.... Clive Koresh (sorry, Whittingham). |  |

Personally always been happy to be upfront about my salary, as it is cultures of silence and 'we don't talk about money' culture that leads to people getting ripped off and being paid less than their peers who shout about it more. Lots of cultural factors involved, and tends to affect women far more than men. |  | | |
