The suggestion was that we are doing a straight swap deal which is Varane and Obikwu to Real Madrid and in their place, we are getting Valverde and Mbappe from the Spanish titans as both Valverde and Mbappe feel they are at stages of their careers that they need a new challenge.

Thinking we are trying to sell Kolli probably for a reasonable fee, and I do actually think we will get in another midfielder and if Kolli goes, another striker perhaps.

I don't think we can read into squad numbers the way we used to: most players now have a favourite squad number, and it's not always in the first eleven.
Dunne is a centre-back, but takes 3 because his idol is Pique.
The Boy Kemper (TBK) might have wanted the left-back's traditional 3 shirt, but the captain has that.
Vale sticks on 20.
Madsen sticks on 24.
