I thought he was excelllent.
When Kemper went off, i thought "here we go" - the injuries will start to stack up now as per the norm, but when I saw Adamson come on, I thought Pompey would rip us to shreds for the rest of the game, and in particular because Adamson was on his unfavoured side, but he played extremely well. Am always happy when a player redeems himself.
I hope its given him a boost but also I hope Kemper only went off just as a precaution. [Post edited 15 Aug 20:35]

Yeah, thought he did well.
Also think players could have helped him a bit more by playing to his right side given he's very right footed and playing on the wrong side.
A few times he got caught turning or taking an extra touch when a pass was played to him.
But he coped well.
Not sure I want him to play as many passes across the defence like he did, but fine.

Complete bugger for TBK. Hope it isn't as bad as we fear.
Adamson had easily his best game for us today. I was unsure when he came on, especially at left back, but he looked so comfortable. Night and day compared to some of his performances last season.
Really hope he continues this form. |  |

Last season, I thought that Adamson tried to play everything very safe and just pass the ball back to where it came from. He looked petrified of making a mistake. Yesterday, he was playing some lovely passes into the feet of the midfielders and looking to get us up the pitch. Defensively he looked more solid too. Hope he can keep it up. |  |

Sounds like another good game from him yesterday. What do people think - is he starting to turn a corner?
My general thinking is that if he doesn't improve any further and we get a solid if unexciting both-sides backup fullback for 120k that we can sell on, then he might finally turn out to be a decent bit of business. Hopefully he can kick on from here too! Or am I being too optimistic about games against two pretty poor teams? [Post edited 23 Aug 18:24]

The only threat Bolton had was by targeting him TBF
He let his man in twice in first half with one of those resulting in the hair band wearing chap blazing over the bar.

I thought he did well, considering he was playing out of position and is still very inexperienced.
Watching the game I thought he might get taken off as their main threat was attacking his side, and I thought he was starting to struggle a bit myself.
No questions re effort, great energy up and down the line, I thought he did well first half (though again their only chance came down that side).
So in view of his lack of experience, the fact the player he was up against was bigger and faster and he was playing out of position he did well, I think excellent is pushing it.
All good learning for him though. | |

Adamson did well but I would select Cirkin ahead of him.
Most had written him off , but he seems to be improving with more game time.
I agree with you about Mbenge. I thought that was a wasted sub after 61 minutes because he was having a good game and thought Smyth coming on would have made more sense.
The Lamptey substitution could have been done later, just to give him a bit of game time to ease him back. | | | |
