Mind we are playing well but in the final third our strikers were found wanting, asking all the questions but no answer
Is it a concern? Bolton match seems to suggest that, we had plenty of opportunities but couldn’t put the ball in the net
With Kolli out of favour and Obikwu years away?

Personally we should stick with what we have, think Kone will come good again and Burrell working really hard and back to fitness. Strange situation with Kolli, the important thing is we are scoring from within the team, no need to press the panic button. Remember last season it took 3 or 4 games before the strikers got going, the difference this season is our confidence, fitness and momentum seems much better. |  | | |

We’ve scored 5 goals without them, so when they start scoring it’ll be even harder for teams to beat us.
They’ll come good eventually and then we will crack on - hopefully. It’ll only take 1 or 2 before they find their stride again. Just hope they maintain fitness and that we manage to resolve the Rayan enigma before the window closes. One way or another.
Meantime, I don’t mind Lloyd playing for the last 20mins and one day maybe seeing the ‘Phantom’ making an appearance.

Burrell just gets better and better for me.
Yet to see the explosive pace of last season, which is a concern, but I’d hope that returns.
His hold up, lay off and aerial game certainly seems to have gone up a notch.
The situation with Kolli is really sad.
Looks to be irreparable but if it can be then we’d have a player on our hands there. Kolli also needs to accept he needs work - mainly on the physical side.
Obikwho? Situation there is a farce.
I’m not counting him as a player until he is seen as flesh and body.
Kone….. mmmmmmm. I’ve never been convinced on him.
Biggest compliment I can pay him for last season is he kept going when he was last man standing.
Surprised he got double figures.
Really hoped he’d kick on this season, still might, but currently he looks to be playing his way out of contention.

Kone is without doubt our weakest link and even if he does finally start scoring the odd goal, his overall contribution does not justify a starting place.
Lloyd showed what a bit of pace and power can do to at least give the defenders something to think about, by pulling them out of position and closing them down quickly.
This is without doubt the best squad we have had in years and the mentality is also strong.
Playing with one up top, when we have such an array of attacking talent behind the striker looks to be the way to go, as we simply don’t have the money to pay for a Kone replacement. | | | |

I wouldn’t mind betting that a striker is on his way.
The club recently have kept their cards close to their chest surrounding transfers. I can’t see Kolli getting a shirt and we get a youngster in from a PL team. Donkey from spurs has just gone to Luton. It helps that we are playing well and it could attract a decent youngster |  | | |

A striker who scorers would be a big addition to this squad. Look at what we got......
Kone - works hard, great attitude but technically he is awful most weeks. Not scored this season despite having some excellent chances and cant recall the last time he scored.
Burrell - again the same as Kone but he has decent pace and is a danger for the opposition.
Kolli - not good enough, will be gone soon if we can get rid.
Lloyd - A tryer, a worker, good attitude, not sure he will ever be good enough for QPR/Championship football
Obikwu - Unknown

Kone was in on goal three times against Bolton. Yes, he snatched at them, but he was in the riight place. to score them. On another day two of those go in and no one is doubting Kone now. All strikers are confidence players and can go on streaks of form. Burrell was improved yesterday and Lloyd has for me been a pleasant surprise. Been a handful. His enthusiasm is infectious.
Not though having this total destruction of Kone. He was constantly available last season. Worked extremely hard in games, created goals and got into double figures. Not achieved since Andre Gray. As Stephan said after Bolton, one game, where he had a poor game, does not change his opinion of the player. I dont think the set up with him and Burrell covering a similar position with Chair and Smyth roaming behind them worked yesterday either.
Remember not so long ago, we jusr had Dykes and the 100 metre runner in Arnstrong and that was it. Before that it was just Dykes and a guy that liked Jaffa Cakes. Bonne - he was not.

Yeah I don’t get it either. He is a bit streaky and was last season. But maybe it’s just me I think you do need someone who’ll work their butt off every week even if it doesn’t all pay off. As you say he did get into good positions against Bolton and at some point those shots will be converted. Also I think we’ve got slightly short memories because at some points last season he was the only striker still standing and looked like he was playing with one leg at times with a knee bandage.
I doubt he’s our most expensive wage and given strikers are generally expensive he’s an important part of our squad. He also works the CBs so they get worn out and/or are less able to cover other players in the box. As long as Stephan who is pretty ruthless if he doesn’t rate you continues to pick him in the squad I think he’s definitely got a role and will show his ability across the season. |  | | |

Looking at the way Kone is playing this season especially, yes we do. I think we also need a big CB as back up to Dunne or to play alongside him when we are facing teams that are going to attack us in the air for 90 minutes. Don't think Morisson is good enough. Speaking of Mbappe, Haaland and Kane... Those three have gone 4 games without a goal before. Not saying our strikers are in that league, but it happens to the best of them.
Kone and Burrel scored 21 goals between them last season and that was with Burrell out for half a season!

It’s a fair question with just one day to go. However, I think we will be okay. I was more concerned about Kone yesterday than v Bolton to be honest when he was just a tad unlucky. As others have said, we have goals from all over the team - four different scorers already - and having Chair back and firing adds another ten goals to the team. Still think Kone and Burrell will hit double figures again once they get going. | | | |

Edwards is not a CM. He's a highly skilled player who could do a job anywhere, but watch the Cantwell chance with the header he absolutely should've scored in the first half.
Comes about because Edwards lets him run off his shoulder, completely unaware there's anyone there because it's not his position, he's not used to it and it will bite him/us at some point. He's a good enough player to play full back, CM or even CF in a short-term role. But he's a centre back.

No sure where the budget would come from for another striker. We strengthened this area last season with young hungry players. If anyone gets a long term injury then we could look at a loan or free agent, but we have Obikwu getting close to being fit. | | | |
