We're playing five games in 14 days, surely no one thinks the same 11 is starting every game. Today's starting line up weaker than Wednesday's? Not for me. As for having a go at the manager because rested players got injured, I have no words.

Really encouraging second half, much better than against Cardiff and unlucky not to get a point.
With a few more crosses from Saito and Smyth we might have got the break we deserved.
We need Kone back and firing as the second half was crying out for a centre forward to help Burrell who was excellent but a bit isolated at times

There was much more to take from this performance than the Cardiff game. Boro are going to finish top 3 so to go toe to toe with them is a massive improvement.
I think too many on here see the result rather then the performance and who it was against.
Just back from the match! Disappointed to lose but I thought we were good enough to get a draw based on the second half. Played some good stuff, just didn’t find the net. Didn’t think the starting 11 worked and we looked better when Kone and Chair went off, tough loosing two with injuries that early. Although we improved after, it hindered us later with only 3 subs left! They were better in the first half and we were in the second, our toughest game of the season, and we competed well! Team selection a bit off today, much improved in the 2nd half when our subs were on. Poku just does not seem to be the player we were expecting and Kone poor again. But we gave Boro a good game, much improved than where we were last season.

Bolton was a poorer and more costly result.
Agree with that…add Morris in midfield to Lankshear -Would love a player like that.Was impressed with them - physical, canny, well coached
Thought we gave them fright but that is the level

well how did we not score? hit post and had many shots saved. we deserved a draw but luck did not go our way. we were in this and not out played Boro will be very pleased . we will lose 10 or so this season but if we can cling to top 8 it could be a fun rollercoaster

Plenty to be positive about .I used to get stupidly angry over QPR but have mellowed in the last 3/4 years not expecting much. I reckonthis is the best squad in years.

Even when we win, there are quite a few who are quick to say we didn't deserve it or we got away with one. Looks to me like we have our most competitive, well balanced squad for years. If you can't find some pleasure in recent games then you're going to spend most of your life disappointed.
The anonymity of the internet has good deal to answer for. It's easy to play Billy Big Bollocks when no one's giving you a smirk, a sigh or the side-eye from across a table.

You know what, I want us to win but if we don’t then I want to be entertained. My 2 games so far are Bolton and today, one we should have one, two we could have. They were very good throughout, organised, aware of each others positioning/ movement and not a single mistake. I back Kone but yes, he’s not on it at all and Burrell was another level to him. The second half started how I thought it would, tweaks at HT ,poku and Smyth more direct/decisive. Couldn’t had played much better against a team like that and on another day….. Charles some good saves, other than Kobe all performed, Saito effective but mom for me was Dunne. Very much liking what I’ve seen so far overall.

I am confident we can be competitve in every game we play this season Disco.
And yes totally agree. Absolutely we do have a great squad. So much strength in depth and some ofnour best players really are quite something.
We still in third place. Boro could be top two easily this season and they had their man up top in the right place at the right time.
We came back very strongly in the second half and on another day we could have won.
Even so we were very competitive against one of the title favourites and that after two key players hobbling off in the first half. Our key playmaker and key striker going off, in previous seasons, that would lead to four consecutive defeats.
Thats so not happening this season. Good times ahead, am sure...
Fair result IMO. We picked up second half, but we wasted chances, several cut backs/crosses into empty spaces and a couple of poor corners. I think it was Smyth who hit the post, he was unlucky, but we can’t rely on single moments of brilliance.
I was impressed with Lamptey and generally impressed with the overall feel of the team compared to last season. Still not sure what our strongest 11 is.
Last thing, I thought the atmosphere was good. Feels like something is stirring at the club. Anyway, still early days, let’s not get carried away.

He talked about progress and he's not wrong. It was March when they totally destroyed us. I remember leaving when the fourth went in. Never leave early but that was a different level of humiliation. We competed today all over the pitch and gave them a really good game. Glad we stuck with Stephan when it looked like maybe he'd been QPR'd. He has something about him. We have a good year maybe one in every ten and maybe just maybe this year is one of those. Keep the faith everyone!

It’s not playing Billy Big Bollocks to have an honestly held opinion and this is not the only place to voice it In the ground , in the pub on the train plenty of push back there . In my case from my two adult sons I stand by my opinion , that swapping out half the outfield team in each game is too many .

I think his self belief has gone,he’s now in a squad of very fast players and he’s not in the same league as them.As you say,milk turns quicker.Unfortunately for Kone,he will never get quicker.
Agree but, his lack of pace isn’t the issue for me, it’s his in game play, he’s to heavy to compete in the air, his hold up play is atrocious and, he doesn’t rough up defenders for a guy his size.
Needs real one on one work, you can see Burrell has worked on his game, has Kone, if so, the results are currently not showing.

Agree with you, watching that game from the upper loft yesterday we more than matched Boro, whereas last season we were well off the pace. Shame Chair went off early with the injury, for me at the moment both Poku and Kone are not starters we looked a whole lot better when Burrell came on as well as Smyth. Also introduction of Kamara and Madsen in the midfield. Also think Saito did a decent job when he came on for Chair. More positives for me than negatives yesterday, although sort of knew once Boro got that 1st goal would be difficult to break them down, a draw would have been a fair result. Two difficult away games to navigate now, let's see how we respond to our first in game defeat.
