Could not have been more of a contrast between to two halves. Understandably after going a goal down in the first 20 seconds, get a man sent off after 15 mins and then going another goal down within half an hour the vibe was dead. Not even the PNE fans were that lively. Apart from Scarlett (who I thought had a decent debut) and Adamson, the players seemed at a loss and adrift, and this reflected in the crowd. At least we made it to halftime without letting in a third as I’m sure some would have left. It’s understandable, but i thought it also took a little of the gloss off what would have been a more hearty welcome for the players and families of the 67 League and Cup winners, and for Charlie Austin’s charitable efforts.
Second half though, different story. Loftus Road was absolutely bouncing. Whatever Julien said at halftime, well the players delivered the appropriate response. And the crowd responded too.
There’s such a fine relationship in the dynamic between what goes on the pitch and how the support responds and the ultimate result. Yes, the players set the tempo, after all their raison d’etre is to entertain. However, it can’t be denied that the support can exert a massive influence on the mindset of the team.
Yesterday was such a great example of the team and supporters in synch. Players busting a gut and persisting despite being down to 10 (not that you could tell), hitting the crossbar and the keeper pulling off some great saves, and the supporters encouraging them every step of the way. It does affect them, and the opposition too.
I don’t know, I’m just still buzzing from yesterday. As an amazing an atmosphere as I’ve experienced in my many years, and we didn’t even win (although another 5 mins and we would have!).
Also, I hold my hand up. Right at the end, when Madsen was about to take his free kick, I said to my mate next to me, “If this goes in, I’m taking my T-shirt off!”. Iversen must have heard me and must have thought he’d be doing a public service to prevent that from happening, so he only went and pulled out a blinding save. Apologies.

Spare a thought for those that sit in the middle of the Upper Loft. We've got both sides of us starting chants now, albeit different ones resulting in a confusing mish mash of 'we r the Rangers boys' and the one about us coming from White City.

By the end he was thanking me for being part of the crowd as much as anything.

When we equalised the roar was massive, I thought the roof on the loft was gonna tear clear off , amazing atmosphere! And everyone seemed to be singing in the ground!

It was special. I've moved season ticket this year to the SA road corner of the lower loft. Was right next to safe standing before. Love how the upper loft corner get Hello Hello We Are The Rangers Boys Going and keep it going for a good while. At Middlesbrough it felt like it went on for about 10 minutes. When we're up for it, it's the best ground in the country. Unfortunately, I missed Morgan's last minute goal against Birmingham but yesterday felt as big as Dunne's goal against Birmingham. Sheer elation all over the place. Hugging people in front, hugging people behind. Incredible. If you want 30 seconds that shows why football is the greatest sport in the world then you couldn't do much better than that goal and those celebrations.

Let's hope the fans can replicate that atmosphere from the start of matches in future. We never know, it might inspire the team to get going earlier.

Yes, there was a massive contrast half to half, but then again our football was National League South in the first half, and top class Premier League in the second.
The fans feed off the players and vice versa likewise.
Was a great shame Madsen's free kick didnt end up going in. The stadium would literally have been shaken from its foundations. I noticed looking around the ground when Smyth's goal went in, all corners of the ground were going absolutely stark raving bonkers. Even the most timid of fans had their moments of sheer delirium at that time.
Read a comment on social media from a Preston fan, he appreciated being at a ground where the atmosphere was so unreal, even when conceding in the last minute.
Whenever, we eventually upgrade to a new stadium, we have to be so careful, in that the design, enables the atmosphere we can create at Loftus Road. We dont want to make the mistake, West Ham have done. Their fans hate it, as would we.
What other crowd though, would go that mental at equalising at home to bottom of the table, Preston North End. Only QPR.

Yep that's True. That early goal deflated the crowd. Then the sending off and the 2nd goal against a limited Preston side, just before half time the atmosphere was as flat as a witches tit. But after 10 minutes of the 2nd half the crowd brought into it and by the end the place was rocking ! Give us something to feed on and our fans are 2nd to none !

We sit in JU which has always been quite quiet. However, the lads in HU have been outstanding this season with “Hello Hello we are the Rangers boys “. That has caused JU to come alive and other blocks too.
They’ve cranked the chant for 10 minutes straight. We need to aim for 20!
