| Kone 00:15 - Oct 16 with 5030 views | LazyFan | I watched him close last night. He was slow, but not as slow as the Wet Spam game. So, that was a good sign of progress. He held the ball up better, but his lay-offs need more work, or his teammates are not on the same wavelength. In any rate he was giving Derby some grief, but Derby is not exactly a reference these days. I think he's coming back, but really slowly. I expect Kohli to start with Smyth and Poku up front. With Kone coming on at the 60-minute mark, as he did against Derby. Edwards will be in the middle, with JCS back. This will allow Madsen and Kamara to hopefully control the middle. Later on in the game, Edwards can move to RB and Adamson to LB when Kemper gets tired. This would allow Vale or Varane to come on for Kemper, depending on how the game is going. Having the Vale of Arryn, Old King Kone, and our favourite Chair to sub on would be an awesome set of subs. | |

Agreed mate. The whole situation around this ideal called Obikwu is a good old fashioned QPR farce. Signed for a decent wedge of cash at the start of the year to cover an injury but had himself been injured the whole time apart from a week in pre-season where there weren’t any matches. Someone said he’s played half an hour for us but I think that’s just wishful thinking. On Kone, he is patently unfit. There’s no point bringing him on if he’s just going to injure himself by walking - keep him off the grass and don’t risk him until he’s built up some fitness. There was absolutely zero benefit bringing him on today as that game was lost as soon as we went one down. I agree I’d rather have seen one of the academy players come in instead at that point.

It is so bizarre. Even the Charlton match when he came on he was out of position. The striker situation is our biggest issue. If we had Nahki from a few seasons back in this team, we'd definitely make the play-offs. Let's hope Burrell is back soon.
| Kone on 09:52 - Oct 18 with 677 views | 7374Ranger | Obikwu was on the bench , but not used . This suggests to me, that he is either not fit or not considered good enough. Maybe just a very poor signing by the club if the latter. As has been suggested, maybe put one if the Development Squad strikers on the bench as they have done with Scarlett. They might not be good enough but a better option than putting on an unfit Kone and risking long term damage to his knee. It may be necessary for QPR to try and bring in another striker in January if the finances can be found. On a side note, the QPR injury list is not looking too promising for the season and may not be much better than previous campaigns. Burrell Chair Lamptey Mbengue Madsen Kone Dembele Obikwu??? That’s a big chunk (1/3 ) out of the squad. I know there are other clubs with similar number of injured players, but there are others that haven’t anywhere near the same. Is it luck or better medical or fitness personnel. | | | |

Curioser and curioser. And Obikwu is playing today, before inevitably disappearing for a couple of weeks.

Think his head isnt right. His body should be fine yet he doesn't give the body language of a guy who is happy and fit. Rumours of personal issues over the summer and he looks a shadow of the guy who joined 12 months ago. The death and resurrection incidents keep happening!! How many times has he gone down screaming, rolling around, banging the turf with his hands when 24 hours later he's running around like a child in a soft play centre!! He needs to see a shrink not a physio. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Kone on 14:58 - Oct 18 with 130 views | BAWHoops | Does sort of feel as though he needs a break. 4 weeks away from the club to get his body (and head?) right. I get that Stephan loves him and the club see him as a sellable asset, but right now we are ruining him. Injuries ARE easing. Dembele, Saito on road back. Burrell a few weeks away as well. Obikwu seems to be sort of availbale as well. Don't want to see Kone until Christmas now. Lets manage him properly | |

Madsen is ok isn't he, I thought he just needed a rest Saturday? Apparently Kone is ok,, or as Ok as he can get now. Dembele and Obikwu are due to play for the Development team. So optimistically just 1/6 of the Squad are out, and Chair is possibly back for Swansea.

Madsen got a kick on his ankle against Derby. He hobbled for a bit, then ran it off. I'm sure Clive's report will address the injury and fitness issues. Apparently, Birmingham fielded the same team as midweek; we seem to be continually resting players, whether that's taking players off after an hour or players can't play successive games. It would be a shame if the promise of this squad is affected by the same issues we've seen in the last couple of seasons.

Madsen was on the bench on Saturday, so there can't be any serious issue. As for Kone, as others have intimated, there must be something going on with him that we know nothing about and that's a worry.
