Recent QPR managers 08:24 - Sep 19 with 2602 viewsdmm

It’s struck me how most managers from our recent past have not done well after leaving.

Hasselbaink. Hardly seems 8 years ago since he left us. Spells at Northampton and Burton, where he’s just resigned, did not go well.
Holloway. Ollie’s 18 month second spell with us wasn’t memorable and his final manager’s job at Grimsby ended badly with relegation.
McClaren. Schteve’s year with us was no more memorable than Ollie’s. His subsequent roles at Derby coincided with the club going into administration. Things seem to be going better for him as an assistant coach at ManU, but you never know at that club…
Eustace. It’s too early to say how Eustace will do at Brum but he seems to be holding his own so far.
Warburton. To join Wham as a first team coach after leaving us rather than take up another manager’s position seemed strange. His new club’s current 18th position following an excellent season last year, is also a bit strange.

We have to go back to Warnock to find a manager who was successful after leaving us. So with this recent record perhaps we should be extra grateful to Beale for getting on board!

‘Go to QPR and come out a broken man’, not the best sales pitch is it?

Should Beale be worried.?

Maybe Warburton didn’t want the stress of another managers job. He’s financially secure and besides, a PL 1st team coach position may pay equal or better than a Championship manager position if money is a consideration.
We can’t speculate as to what is strange and what isn’t without knowing all the facts and generally we’ll never know the facts so anything is just guesswork/opinion.

With Moyes position under threat, warburton could well come into the picture as a caretaker .
Stranger things have happened.

This, he will be the obvious choice and get some Prem games on his CV should Moyes fall.

If he manages to keep them up, he can return to the backroom when they get another manager in or go elsewhere. Win-win for Warbs.

zzzzzzzzzz

Thats really on us for appointing terrible managers. Warbs the first success in a long time, he's also 60 so not exactly using us as a stepping stone to greatness. Got himself a good coaching gig at a top flight club in London. I have a lot of faith in Beale being a good appointment, lets see

Mark Hughes's stock disappeared completely (deservedly so mind) after leaving us.

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

Don't get overexcited, he's doing well at Bradford.

Not that it makes any difference to this discussion, but JFH left us 6 years ago.
