Never knowingly right.

Agreed and we made the right decision getting him in …seems a good fit and lets enjoy him while he is here.

Meanwhile, after listening to that I am off to back us for auto!

Dunno about you, but swapping jobs for a team that's got a good chance to go up, for a team that's got a good chance to go down, isn't overly appealing.

Kipper tie? Oh no, that’s gone now.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Very honest and well delivered interview from Mick.

I'd love to know what this show of faith and commitment from him to the wider project will have on the players. You'd hope it galvanises the spirit throughout the entire club.

Perhaps it could even persuade Willock to sign a new deal.

Well Mick Beale has done the right thing.
And I'm delighted.
In fact more than that - thrilled.
In my post last night of 2226 of October 19 on the Mick Beale thread I mentioned respect, loyalty and integrity.
Whether Mick has done the right thing regarding those three things - well who really knows, despite his interview this afternoon.
He did say 'loyalty and integrity' was important and that he wanted - regarding the project 'to see it through'.
Very, very encouraging.
But he could have said no to Wolves on Tuesday or yesterday.
But he decided not to.
And it leaves a bit of a nasty taste.
His decision today, just an hour or so before Liz Truss quit, means he could have turned Wolves down much earlier and saved everybody, owners, management, players and us fans all that unnecessary anguish.
But in that interview he said he's new in this job as a No.1 - almost wanting a little forgiveness.
Well he has my forgiveness.
What perhaps may have turned his thinking in staying was last night's victory over Cardiff. His players - despite such weak opposition - played for him, themselves and us.
When he walked around the pitch after the whistle and received the acclamation of the fans perhaps it struck him and confirmed for him - what a brilliant 'little' club we are.
Indeed in his interview afterwards - he looked tired and a bit red-eyed.
I think us fans and of course his players and of course the backing of our management team did make the difference - yesterday and this morning.
We will never know but I'm convinced we all helped.
So MB will surely be here to stay for the rest of the season.
He will see his team develop and hopefully a top 6 spot or automatic promotion.
This squad is certainly a fine bunch of players.
I can't really see MB poached before the season ends.
I hope MB tells his agent - that he just wants to concentrate on QPR.
And maybe if - and a big if - there is promotion - he would have succeeded in what he has said publicly - he would be managing a Premiership club, the players - bar our loanees unless they are bought - will play in the Premiership and we the fans will just love it.
Can you imagine what the players are feeling right now? Jubilation.
The 'boss' is staying - we are all confident - and the promotion dream is reachable.
As many people on this thread has said - ok - it's done - he stays - and now we look forward to Wigan at home on Saturday and hopefully strengthen our top of the table status.
So no grudges Mick - do the best you can, keep the attractive football ticking, and just keep making our side better and better.

Maybe he asked Steven Gerrard for his advice and was told that competition in a relegation fight would not be welcome.

To be fair, I think all the nonsense belied their true feelings for Mick. QPR supporters are not used to having nice things! Time to move on and get behind the team.

You say "But he could have said no to Wolves on Tuesday or yesterday. But he decided not to. And it leaves a bit of a nasty taste.

My understanding was that Wolves didn't make an official approach until this morning so difficult to turn down something not yet offered. MB then declined the opportunity to speak with Wolves so let's be happy that he's staying when most in that position wouldn't.

I've just seen this fantastic news as I've been at the funeral of a good and longtime friend. And, my mother died a week ago. It's been a horrible time.

When I heard about Beale possibly leaving it felt like heartbreak upon heartbreak. I've supported our club for many, many years and QPR is very important to me.

Listening to his interview shone some much needed sunlight into these dark days of mine. Mentioning things like the importance of relationships and having personal integrity gladdens my heart. He's not only an excellent football coach, but he also really understands people. I don't think I've heard a football manager speak quite like that before.

Thank you, Mick Beale.

dmm, my condolences both for your friend and also your Mum. We held our Mum’s funeral on Tuesday, a real tough day, emotional but she had a beautiful send off. I’m sure you’ll do the same for your Mum too. Todays news has been a nice distraction. Was at LR last night and must admit to feeling like I didn’t want to be there.

Hello rrrspricey,
You're quite right that the official approach didn't happen till this Thursday morning.
But my point is that he knew there were rumours spilling around at least 48 hours before.
So It is a simple thing to say well before that official approach - 'whatever these rumours are and nothing official yet - I'm staying at QPR' - which is what he finally did.
He could have saved everybody a lot of anguish.
If there are rumours spilling around - you squash it - if that's what you want.
But he clearly - and fair enough - he wanted to think about it.
So the rumours persisted until this Thursday's announcement.
Let's be clear I'm very much a Beale fan.
As said many times I'm a disciple - certainly by the way he has made us a much better team and as he says more to come.
I like him too - the way he speaks about football, the way he speaks about the players.
So let's move on and upwards.
More than delighted - like most of us - that he's going to stay as we both agree.

Sounds like he has a great relationship with Les and the owners as well.

Never been so flat after a 3-0 home win and the gloom continued this morning at work. Think this whole situation has been handled really professionally by Mick and also the club.

Glad QPR and Mick Beal are providing some comfort and hopefully brighter days ahead .

dmm and DWQPR, having allowed the dust to settle on the Beale to Wolves saga, I've only just noticed that you both lost loved ones recently. This really drives home what's important in life. My apologies for failing to note this earlier. May your respective mothers and friend rest in peace.
