Happy memories reading this. I was there and remember it well. (Can't remember what I did yesterday mind).
Me and my mates were near the back of the North Bank but after the goal I found myself right at the front. One of the best surges ever.
I also remember how well Bob Hazell played - Big Cyrille was a great player and Bob practically marked him out of the game.
I agree re: Tony Currie - a Rolls Royce of a player. I was there when he did his knee in a pre-season at Wimbledon. He was sadly never the same player again. Would've been one of the all time QPR greats but for injury.
Anyway, this has got me excited for tomorrow. Yeah, I know, I should know better at this age.....

Glory hunter, me

15 yrs old, in North bank, we feared the pace and power of regis, wba had a really good team then, often top 6, a few uefa cup runs and we were a league below, but we had a blooming good team then. HAZELL was immense that day. great day and memories, we may not see the like for ages

Yes, for those of us who were fans back then, it's not hard to discern why QPR now is a shadow of what it was.

We’re the same age…one of the best atmospheres I’ve ever been part of. The noise and crush when that goal went in, fcuk me!

Happy days indeed

What a great day out that was, 18 years old in the North Bank. A night of celebration followed back at the Black Horse in Greenford and the Oldfield Tavern, if my memory serves me well.

Really good match report, Clive.

Loved the interview afterwards. I watched the game on the telly at the time but have never seen it back in full. Reads and sounds like Currie played a Masson role with Roeder also playing deep and we hit them through the wing-backs?

Don't think I ever knew that.
