I was at the Bolton U21 game on Monday and the assault on Kone was pretty much right in front of me.
A dreadful tackle, made worse by the fact that Kone was on the turn when the impact occurred.
Richard was on the ground for a good two or three minutes and clearly in some pain. When helped to his feet he was unable to weight bear on his injured leg.
It was a painful watch to see him limp to the touchline with the assistance of the medical team.
My fear at the time was that he had damaged his ACL and I view the news that he hasn't as a bonus.
Regardless - I dont think we will see him for at least a couple of months.
One positive from the day was that Kolli looked very good during his 35 minutes on the pitch. [Post edited 25 Sep 12:27]

Its a great shame for him and us.
Seriously though what a god damn awful challenge in a youth game. The perpetrator should have the proverbial book thrown at him, big time. He won't though. But its potentially a career ending challenge. Nasty.
Not sure if Obikwu deemed good enough or Kolli deemed fit enough. Maybe, neither will be on the bench and we could have either Alfie on the bench or no striker at all. |  |
