I've always been a huge fan of Elastica. They do have a male drummer but are a female band. Lots of attitude and anthem songs. I often thought they were better than Blur.

Mind, I saw here in concert in Manchester a few years back. Performed the whole of "Let England Shake" and barely said 20 words to the audience all night.
