If anyone in the Committee of Extremely Pompous People Who Run Football had any interest in being radical, the League Cup would be changed to be the 72 EFL clubs only, which would bin off the EFL Trophy in the process (and all the nonsense of Prem U-21 teams being involved) and have it as a big cup for teams from the Championship to League Two.
If you kept the European spot too (unlikely, even in the pipe dream of this radicalness) we'd find teams at our level actually taking it seriously.

Feels like Saka as with many exciting young players is having it coached out of him. Occasionally cuts inside and has a shot but seems to mostly now just shield the ball and hope the ref gives him a soft foul. | | | |

We just had a very interesting conversation on the Vale call up for ROI on here and I was drinking with a few Irish people Saturday and this was their point.
England have at least 2 if not 3 players for each midfield and forward spot.Not going to name them all but there is simply not enough spots for all the talent they have and even if they get into the 22 or 26 or whatever gets on the plane to the WC quiet a few are not getting a shirt.Thats leaving at least another 11 at home completly who would probably make other International sides at least ROI ,Scotland ,Wales and NI if they qualified.
All pretty much financially secure just looking to play International football and the exposure that comes with it .Cannot blame them looking around because England are stacked with youngish talent right now | | | |
