Having a break from here 05:06 - Sep 8 with 4334 viewsnumptydumpty

Wish all well.

Its not doing me much good posting on here. And apologies to any that i have inadvertently upset along the way.

Got a few things, going on in my life, nothing along the lines of Mart, Ted or Ned but stuff all the same.

I am struggling at the moment, but posting on here is sadly adding extra stress i dont need currently. Its not been helping recently.

Wishing all well.

Hope to reconnect later in the year.

Hope you're OK, do come back, when you're ready.

Don’t always agree with you mate but your passion for all things QPR shines through and you’re a valued poster on here. Hope you come back soon: for me the forum helps distract from the trials and tribulations of ‘real’ life and I appreciate it being here.

Make sure you have someone to talk to about what's going on, and if pausing here helps, then that can only be a good thing for you.

Numpty I'd say if you're going through things, and it's clear Rangers is an important part of your life like the rest of us, you should stay around, but post less for a while.

I don't mean that in any critical way, but there's a tendency for many of us to use this forum for quick gut reactions, or to say things that we haven't 100% thought through.

I'm not even saying you're doing that, but sometimes people are in different places, or don't get that you're not trying to run a double blind controlled experiment over the subject - you're just blowing smoke and trying to have a discussion. I think I can see that with the Kolli stuff.

It can be demoralising when you get negative reactions back, and I've found that at times in the past. It's usually nobody's fault, unless someone deliberately writes something to sound like a tvvat.

In some ways this board is like a load of us just down the pub talking shit, and in other ways it often (and often sadly) isn't. So have a few sips of your virtual pint, go for a virtual piss, stumble outside and bother someone for a half cut virtual fag - terrible habit, they really should give that up but handy they have them on them.

Ironically I'm not sure this makes total sense (is that irony? Who knows) but hopefully you get the point of my pub metaphor/analogy.

Take it easy mate. Hopefully you'll soon be feeling in a much better place and things will seem less of a struggle. This is a brilliant message board, but ultimately it's not real life, so try to ignore anything that upsets you on here.

Hope the stuff in the real world is soon feeling much more manageable.

Well said, and well contextualised

It's not worth getting too upset about things on here - we all soon move on to the next talking point. And there are more important things to do in life than quibble about things that are out of our hands anyway.

Well said. Try not to take personally and avoid political threads, then you’ll be fine!

As Clive will tell you I have tried to escape from here before. I hope that you do a better job of that than me.

Good luck with everything and hope to see you back here soon. Hopefully our results will make a return much easier.

I find putting some threads on ignore works well for me. Especially where it has become negative.

And sometimes just saying things that won’t be controversial for a while as the constant to and forth can be wearing.

I’d also generally avoid unhappy things: miserable people, the news, talk radio, depressing TV can all be bad for your mental health if you’re feeling a bit fragile. I tend to stick to comedy or neutral TV shows when I’m struggling.

If work and finances allow getting away for a couple of days even on your own can be an excellent de stressor. Especially to the countryside or by the sea. Keep up your exercise regime too if you can and get out into the fresh air.

And come back only when you feel stronger Numpty. Sometimes we all need a break.
