False economy.

Everything revolved around trying to recover after releasing both of our best players on for nothing in a supposed attempt to 'save money'. The start was so appalling, unsurprisingly, that we panicked and brought in all of those loans. What i'd like to know, did we end up spending more on the loans than keeping our own best players? Probably. And would we have sold more tickets if we'd kept the team together and improved? Probably.

It's a false economy Lee, sometimes one has to speculate to accumulate.

Ps Character building? Couldn't argue with that. That goes for every season as a Rangers' fan.

We stayed up comfortably, the history books will tell us.

My nerves say otherwise.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Normal.

Without checking, I'm sure that at least half the seasons since 1996 have seen us finish bottom half of the second tier.

Not a term as such, but why can't I get this song out of my head?:

There may be trouble ahead,
But while there's music and moonlight and love and romance,
Let's face the music and dance

I couldn't help myself but check the records.

Ten seasons we've finished bottom half of the second tier and a further five seasons between 8th and 12th (ie not challenging for playoffs). So for 15 out of the last 23 seasons we've been mid or lower table in this division. It's who we are.

A halt to that profligacy was called more than four years ago, and no debt was attached to the club.

Why are you going on about it?

No, not at all. The sense of entitlement of some supporters is ridiculous.

Yes, Tony stuffed up big-time. Yes, he spaffed huge amounts of his money for no discernible result other than humiliation and relegation (oh, and a massive FFP fine - more of his money gone and a bit more humiliation).

Net result, we're back where we were before Warnock showed up (near the bottom of the Championship). Tony's a lot poorer, but we're not. The humiliation was well deserved so write that off as 'character forming'. Really, all we're down is the chance to establish ourselves back in the Premier. A missed opportunity, but not our first and, hopefully, not our last. Lots of clubs fail at that, on average, maybe, two a season. That's life. Deal with it. Move on.

Absolute rubbish.
He spent OUR money. We got into the prem without him. Our current owners have put us back years, decades even and you want to just brush it under the carpet?
Tony is a lot poorer??
Character forming ??

Absolute nonsense.
We've been disgraceful with the way we've thrown money down the drain.
You've got to do better then that isaw..
