Now here's a mad idea. Perhaps we sell the rest of the team and keep Eze?

What a way to sign off!

Never knowingly right.

Just think of all the people who mistook Eze's nonchalance for laziness.

‘Listening to them on the Podcast was painful as they misunderstand things that are crucial to our club’s future’

Which bit specifically?

Nicely picked up, Bazz. It's his usual cocktail of half-truths and pot-stirring. He was challenged over and over again to leave the Corona thread and actually post about football and this is the best he can do. The lad is digswell with better spelling.

RB, “like Hull”? They just got relegated.

If you are specifically referring to the fee we negotiate on one player versus what they did in a different climate, fine. But surely with your own understanding of macroeconomics you’ll understand there are different market forces at play now to then, so it’s a bit difficult to compare?

As for what fee the club will accept, you don’t know, just like all of us. Maybe wait for it to happen before being critical about something that hasn’t happened?

And would you mind giving this whole “I’m very intelligent; you lot don’t get it; Ferdinand doesn’t understand economics, etc” thing a rest? I’m sure you’ve studied and done well on a course, maybe even a degree, but all your posts reek of a late teen/early 20s kid who hugely overestimates his own intelligence and knowledge and thinks he’s talking to a group of knuckle staggers. I’m sure you are smart. But there are lots of smart people on this board, many in senior, high paying roles in business. It’s possible they might be more intelligent or know more than you on a number of topics. Over the 20+ years i’ve been on this board (in its various guises) i’ve been astounded at the level of knowledge apparent from across the board’s community on a range of topics. It doesn’t mean I agree with them all the time (far from it!) but you’ve just joined, so rein it in a bit.

He does have a point though re Bowen, no way should we settle for peanuts , Prem clubs are swimming in cash no matter what is happening in the world i hope and pray we finally get some decent cash for a player

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Great way to finish off in his likely final game

If Hull can get £22m for Jarod Bowen who is a very good effective player but he doesn’t have the touch of genius that Eze does. We must get that at a minimum

Sane has gone this summer for £55m. Werner for £48m

Premier league teams will still receive about £1.7 billion next season in TV money. Relegation is even more terrifying for chairman who have players on 3-5 year deals on pre-Covid contracts. So the difference makers like Eze gain value not lose it

As good a coach as Ramsey is and as good a player Ferdinand was I don’t think they are exactly the finest macroeconomic thinkers. Listening to them on the Podcast was painful as they misunderstand things that are crucial to our club’s future

Eze leaving for less than £25m will be a disgrace. Last night he proved he is a player that can make the difference between getting another slice of the monster Prem TV deals or not

Les is 'not the finest macroeconomic thinker'?

It seems that there will be plenty of clubs wanting to sign Eze. So we will see what they bid.

As for BOS, nothing signed means that there may be a few other clubs interested so this may push his fee higher, unless he has a release clause!

Bright was deserved goal of the season winner. But thinking about Eze's goals against Stoke away, Wigan, Luton, the runs to win the penalties at Hull, at Preston and then, most notably, last night's one - could all have been goals of the season in another year.

It wasn't just the goal, as sublime as that was.

Many times last night his control was excellent & he was turning past opponents at will. I loved it when he didn't keep a crossfield ball in play (nobody else would have got close to it) & he berated himself!

Thank you Sir. I've loved watching you & wish that you would be with us next season, but that can't happen.

Clubs will be queueing up to join in the auction for his signature, but plaese select carefully Eberechi. The world is yours providing you join the right club.

I really want to see Eze's touch on the near touchline v Ajayi, which was so deft and completely did him, again. Magic player.

Good point Terryb. For no reason, here is a picture of one current Premier League assistant manager, in case Ebere is checking the thread...

Including Eze himself who said himself that's why he didn't make it at Millwall and failed two trials elsewhere.

Good article. Is Nick Miller an R?

Particularly liked this:

"It’s like anyone who sets foot in that stadium is instantly imbued with the spirit of 2012, only not the ones who won gold medals but the seven who lost."

Maybe someone could start one of those online government petitions to make sure that this is prevented from happening?

Mr Eze, thank you very much for your time here. You ( and others ) this season have lit up what sometimes has been a very difficult time for the club and fans. Your talent is beyond question and I hope it takes you to the heights in the game it should. Hopefully we can find another jewel in the long line of super talented maverick type players to take your place. QPR isn,t QPR without a number 10 that can do things like you and your predecessors, Taarabt, Bowles Wegerle etc etc. Good luck wherever you end up but please do not go to the scum.

Looks like Leeds are willing to pay the asking price for him, we may get 20+ million for him now!
