This kid is going to be a superstar.

Never knowingly right.
Poll: How long before new signings become quivering wrecks of the players they were?

Willock on 15:00 - May 8 with 3756 viewsdavman

Yep, he just grew into that game and was THE main man when Stef went off. The team with that defence, that protection in front of the defence and Illias and Chrissy high up in the midfield is really exciting to watch...

Can we go out yet?

A superb performance today , he is so difficult to knock off the ball . He is going to score a few next season .What a find ....

Chris Willock superb game again, especially in the 2nd half. We have a real gem of a player.

Willock has been getting better and better. Great to see.

MoM for me, Luton could not handle him.
Amazing player, need to resign him on an even longer contract!

My MOM too. Every time he got on the ball it felt like something was going to happen. He's still got plenty of room for improvement - felt like his shooting was maybe a bit wayward today - but we've got a real player on our hands.

Full credit to the coaching staff as well. So exciting to see younger players - not just Willock but Dickie, Dieng, Dykes etc - come into the first team and end the season as substantially better players.

Maybe we should snap up the brother who doesn't play for Arsenal.

The one that almost single-handedly kept Newcastle up you mean? 😉

I think Chrissy has been more influential than Ilias in the second half of the season. Love the interplay between the two of them but they’re both going to have to work on being a bit more ruthless in the final third. Worries me a bit that a Brighton or Southampton might come in with a 5 or 6m bid for Willock that we can’t say no to. We can’t have nice things.

a propos of very little my Gunner-son told me they were triplets.

This proves not to be so, but Chris and Matty do have the same birthday - coincidently, the same birthday as the son himself...

We got a second Eze playing up front for our youth team also.

Today they also did something different, instead of the usual left-hand side triangles involving Willock, Chair and Wallace, they went right-hand side with Kakay. It sort of worked, but Kakay was not really used to it.

I see this as another of Warbs experiments. Trying something new for next season. I expect them to do more of this next season and using it to stretch teams a lot, dragging them from one side to the other.

Very clever from the coaching team.

Neither did I. I remember he had a spell in Malaysia in the late 80's, which isn't mentioned on his wiki page. I recollect reading match reports in the Kuala Lumpur papers.

No not really Norf.......he was really inconsistent & weak, more than most, and did not deserve a regular start. I never doubted his skills but they were not there often enough.

Recently, he has become more dangerous on the ball, frightens defenders to death and looked very comfortable playing weekly, scoring and creating goals too. He moves around the pitch very well too getting in dangerous areas. Supporters must see he has improved massively.

I don't know why it wasn't there before but maybe training has helped him become a confident player. He deserves his place now but imho not before, just maybe, if MW continued to pick him every week when times were hard there might have been an adverse effect - who knows. Masterstroke from MW & his team and fair play to Willock.

Good one Clive - you're more likely to get Trump to admit he lost the election than have Gazza admit he was wrong!

It isn't 'just me' TW, he wasn't picked by MW so there must have been reasons and I would suggest it was inconsistency. Hopefully, even you, can see the improvements!!!

Shame you could not see that before but I suppose you was blind to it!!!

Yeah but handy to have family like that if you are a decidedly average player.....it will do wonders for your career!

I'm sure young Eze gets lots of advice and help from Brother ..... if he makes the 1st team it will be an achievement.

My young player of the year.

Chair is great and we're blessed to have both him and Willock, but I think Chris is destined to go further.

Matt is the eldest, he's at Gillingham. Then there's our Chris and then Joe is the youngest (Arsenal/Newcastle).
