France poor defensively but their attackers only looked interested for 15-20 mins each game. Far too arrogant and got found out.

Think your being a bit tough on those still in, really does open this tournament right up when a few of the stronger teams are knocked out before the qf.
Spain & Italy now the bookies favourites, if anything after todays games tougher than ever to pick a winner.

If we go into this game with the history books open we could well come a cropper. Germany don't do nerves or worry about this fixture.
However, as I've said before, this Germany team are in my view a tribute act to the previously excellent side they were. As such we should beat them because man for man we have a better squad these days.
It's all down to holding our nerve and trying to play a bit more confidently tonight. If we do I think it could be 2-1 or even 3-1 to us. If we buckle under the pressure it could be that score the other way round. If we do buckle it will be our own fault but I'm hoping we get the job done. |  |

We can win, we are good enough, we have some very good players.
Southgate to pick the right team & tactics and we will be OK.
Hope he starts Pickford, Walker, Maguire, Stones, Phillips, Sterling, Grealish, Foden, Kane and 2 others, don't mind who but I want them all to play their natural positions, no rb playing LB!! Formation at the back either 2 or 3 CB's, both are good with me. Be positive and brave, move the ball quicker.

My only memory of Welbeck playing for England was his back-heeled goal in 2012.
Germany are obviously in a rebuilding period, but they bounce back so quickly - poor in 1994, Euro Champs in 1996. Rubbish in 2000, humiliated in Munich in 2001, finalists in 2002. Kimmich is a sensational player, a real champion. Neuer is a real weak link I think, he looks as shot as Casillas did by the end, but seems undroppable. If we can hustle him, he might give us something. |  | | |
