England vs Germany match thread 09:19 - Jun 27 with 22307 viewstraininvain

I know it’s a bit early but let’s have your England starting 11’s and see if anyone gets it right. I’ll go first:

Pickford

James
Walker
Stones
Maguire
Shaw

Bellingham
Rice

Sterling
Kane
Saka

Ref has been remarkably lenient with the Germans.

England's first win in a knockout game at the Euros in 90 minutes. Only their second win at the Euros in a knockout game after Spain in 1996.

Deserved win for England.
Uninspiring to neutrals but very solid.

Serious contenders for the tournament, without a doubt.

Perfect time for Kane to get his first goal of the tournament.

Kane really hasn't looked fit or mobile at all so far in this tournament. I would have had Rashford on for him ages ago despite the penalty thing. No pace down the middle up front.

Kate Winslet is looking shabby these days, I'm never going to shag her.

(worth a try, isn't it????)

Well done England and Sterling is absolutely fantastic. Really leaves it all out there. Well done Kane for proving that you can be absolutely out of it and still score if you have the knack.

Never knowingly right.

An entertaining match, solid outing with few of the ponderous patches that I've come to expect from an England team. Were the Germans outplayed, over hyped or just having a bad day at the office, who cares, the best team won and by god the country needs a break after the last 15 months of bullshit living.
Can't help but think that the biggest losers on the night were the Irish FA. Forty years ago, their scouts and recruitment methods would have picked off a lot of this team and it might have been Ireland travelling to Rome next week.

The FAI couldn't run a piss up in a brewery!
I'm Irish and I would struggle to turn out for them!!
As I say good luck to England. They were well worth thier win!!

9/4 to win the tournament now. Glad I put my money on before the match at 5/1..

Not sure 9/4 is right though, still three matches to go.
