If City sell him back to Liverpool, will QPR get another cut?

If he was to go out on loan would he not still be paid the same amount anyway? How it's split is between the parent club and loaning club I'd have thought.

I always thought that, but after listening to a lot of ex pros on Undr The Cosh it sounds like its also common for the player to take a pay cut while on loan.

Maybe that pay cut is in the details for app fees and other bonuses, but I've heard it more than once, so there must be something in it.

Raheem Sterling is not ever going to play in the Championship. Ridiculous notion.

Yep, just so people know, this was started by a random EFL fan account on X with an AI image of Sterling in a QPR kit with the quote "he wants to stay in London". Sooo that'll be Fulham or riding out his 325k a week deal with Chelsea B for the next 18 months..

14 appearances, 1 goal and 2 assists for West Ham, loan to Al-Watdafuk in Saudi next season. Guaranteed

He has left Chelsea by mutual consent.

Wants to stay living in London.

Obviously now there is no need to have him on a £300k per week. Probably £80k a week perhaps.

Won't be Arsenal obviously either.

Can see him ending up at Palace myself.

Makes sense and I guess why they would not want to go out on loan as having to survive on around £200k-£250k per week must be quite tough.

So he had the best part of 25m left on his chelscum contract - probably settled on 15/18m to tear it up. Gives him the opportunity of taking a signing on fee and taking a new contract at a new club on around 50/80k per week.
Absolutely love that he has completely and utterly fleeced the scum from down the road...
further solidifies his contribution to QPR folklore without even playing for us...

Oh how we (rightly) laughed about the Winston Bogarde situation at Chelsea many years ago. Modern football is now full of them but serves the clubs right for dishing out stupid contracts with massive lengths (to get around amortisation) on even more stupid amounts.

If he wanted to be playing football then he would have had numerous opportunities to do so over the last few years by going out on loan or agreeing a termination deal with Chelsea.
Money is clearly more important to him which is understandable given the eye watering sum Chelsea are wasting on him every day: fair play to him but he certainly doesn’t deserve any sympathy.

I think we all agree on that one Ted.

Everyone moans about politicians and the rank and file on around £80k a year, some with a few extra pennies through illicit means but nowhere near your half decent footballer, and in theory, at least, politicians are making the laws of the land etc and Surgeons or most that work for the NHS saving lives on extremely average wages by way of comparison.

The curse of modern football sadly.

And half of them arent that good either....

Well the footballers wages Issue have been here a long time now, and I don't blame the players one little bit, they're wages are obscene and will remain so until eventually football or the World Itself explodes.

It actually is yeh. Not sure what it's doing back!

Well given what was about to occur, I was thinking if I was in his boots, multi millionaire at 30, great career enhanced by a club that took me on, taught me what I needed to know and ended up never actually playing for them, I might want to repay them by seeing if I could spend a paltry three months helping them eradicate that four point difference and maybe propel them to the promised land of similar wealth.

Yes, I know, but I can dream can’t I ?

There's clearly too much money in football. But it's there and it's not going away so honestly I'd rather it goes in the pockets of the players than the owners. The players arent the ones who are charging obscene amounts to attend games and they aren't doing anything different to what any of us would do in the same situation if we're honest
