Of the remaining 5 we have left, Burnley very obviously is the only one you see as a guaranteed defeat.

They may be top half, but Coventry and Norwich are, on paper at least, beatable, as are Bristol City.

Win those three home games and we stay up regardless of everyone else. Even Stoke away will be a winnable/drawable game.

If we don't do that then we simply get what we deserve.

If we get some momentum v Cov and Norwich, and Burnley play the kids or have their beach towels out already then I can see us getting a result there.

As with every game in the Championship it’s about timing and the EFL fairy.

Also if Burnley win their next two games they're champions, so hopefully fully on the beach when we go there

Burnley won’t be on the beach. Kompany isn’t that sort of manager.
They’ll set a target of 100 points and 100 goals.

The EFL fairy???

It's QPR. I've never seen a team more likely to win games we shouldn't and lose ones we should win. So that's a draw with Coventry and obviously we'll get three points vs Burnley. Hopefully that's enough.

Cardiff looks vulnerable to me.

Their run-in looks very tough.

They were abysmal yesterday apparently. I actually thought they were out of it.

The problem is we're going to have to win a game. At least one. I don't see us doing it. Yesterday was better, but still two goals down immediately, still all over the place in defence.

It also took a goal of outrageous luck to get us level, you don’t get many of them in a season.

Really? I'm pretty negative about our team but we played well yesterday after we went two-down against a team with a decent manager. The key is starting well and getting a goal (even two) rather than doing what we did yesterday. Use the momentum to steamroll Coventry from the start on Saturday. I hope the club contribute by making it a sell-out too.

Equally though Martin and Richards missed goals that they will put away majority of the time.

Coventry have totally sold out their allocation, top and bottom of School end, so the rest is down to us.

Saturday will be a very tough game, no steamroller, as they're just three points off sixth spot They can be got at defensively, but they are lighting quick on the break with a gem of a player in Hamer.

Credit to them for just about staying the pace as they have lost three good attacking midfielders to long-term injuries: Kasey Palmer, Callum O'Hare and Jamie Allen. Here's hoping Gyokeres's "goal-drought" continues.

Yes Coventry Saturday will be a tough game if we concede an early goal will be a long afternoon. There March form very good but they dipped in April conceding 4 at home to Stoke plus 2 draws. They are beatable but if defend like we have been we will lose. Fingers x for at least a point. Draw with Norwich lose to Burnley and hopefully a win v Stoke or Bristol City. It will be nervy and as Clive said go down to the last game.

Barely mentioned on here, and I'm not really sure why, is that their goal was a blatant handball and should not have been allowed.
Yes, poor defending from us, but they really got away with that one. Luck probably evened itself out with Martin's goal.

Bare bones.

How lucky was it that Martin was purposely closing down the keeper?

A win against Coventry will put all this talk to bed......play like we did for most of the game against WBA and it should be enough.

If Coventry having the full away end stops our players being able to perform, then we will deserve to lose!

Yes, ridiculous argument really isn't it Terry.
No doubt someone would be moaning about lost revenue if we only sold them top tier.

yep, indeed kernow. I'm inclined to think that's a good thing - six pointers and all that. Could be wrong though.

Well we have recently lost to Rotherham, Blackpool and Wigan, so we've already lost those 6 pointers.

Agree, was actually a very well-worked press by Dykes and Martin, with Dykes initially closing down WBA's left-back and deflecting the ball across the pitch with Martin anticipating and closing down keeper and

Could be wrong but on the replay definitely looks more like Martin got his foot around and made deliberate contact with the clearance rather than the ball just randomly hitting him and deflecting in,

Just shows if you work hard, press and put quality early ball in the box some defences will struggle to anticipate and re-set in the same way ours does!

How many times have teams built up a head of steam with raucous away fans in both tiers.

With the ground only holding approx 17,500 nowadays it's ridiculous to give away teams nearly 3k tickets and I can't think of many clubs doing it.

Yes as fans we should be better to counter it but to me it just adds to the general malaise around the club and gifting away fans an advantage

I put this to Hoos when they requested questions but seems that interview never happened

If i was the bloke putting in £2m a month to keep our club afloat,

I'm thinking there's 14k of you, if you really care as much as you say, you'd make some noise from the 1st minute, jut like the Coventry home support did at their place, rather than wait in silence until we hopefully score.

You wanted safe standing to help re-energise the home support and I paid for it, now its your turn to step up to the plate.

Really about time the home fans stepped up like the away support did at the Hawthorns.

Coventry have home fans at both ends so isn't the same as us giving both tiers

Should have had safe standing at both ends and tried to build our support but nah let's just give away fans 3k tickets to make an extra 50k 🙄

I reckon we need 5 more points.
48 and safe by my calcs.
Question is - where are they coming from????

Agree.

With our GD, I think we’ll need 48 too. I can see Reading getting to 47, and Cardiff to at least 46, probably 47 too.

This Sat is actually the big weekend for us, IMO.

We play Cov at home. Reading have Burnley and Cardiff are away at Sheff Utd. If they both match or better us, we’re f*cked again.

If we win and they both lose, as they should, we would be 5 clear of Reading and 4 clear of Cardiff so even with their game in hand it’s not in their destiny to finish above us. So from them on we just need to match one of them for points to stay up.

As Clive said, we need to win a game, and the way the fixtures fall for the others, this Sat should have the biggest psychological effect.
