Part of the original so called ‘big 6’, who instigated the ‘Northern European League’ by way of bullying the football league and other teams to sign up to the awful breakaway league that is the Prem as we know it. Reduced to 20 teams, so there was more room in the troff for their snorts. Not happy with being in the elite club, this top table lot brought in financial FairPlay to ensure no smaller teams could eat at, or challenge their table. To see one of these top table next Tuesday clubs relegated would have been solace for the likes of Bury, and clubs like ours, if the rumours are true about the owners wanting to spend.

I’ve read some very snobby comments about Luton from people who clearly don’t follow football outside of a handful of EPL clubs. Everton were always going to win that game. They had the perfect last two games against teams on the beach and the shock Brighton win pretty much sealed their survival, not unlike our freak result at Burnley secured ours.
The mood was ugly at Leeds at the end, and this from a support base that is usually pretty loyal. Sacking Bielsa looks crazy in hindsight and Big Sam walks away with loads of money once again. The first Spurs goal with Kane allowed the freedom of the penalty area after 90 seconds said it all. QPR esque stuff. | | | |

Think it was always going to be a struggle for Sam, but the thing there is probably not to approach it with a chip on your shoulder about how no one gives you enough credit (for a manager who's won nothing, or even got close to it, and whose entire career was basically built around (mostly) not getting relegated, he has received more credit than probably any manager in history); and whatever you do, don't try and complain you're as good-a coach as the best in the world. You are not, never have been, never will be, and it'll only make you look foolish when you are in charge with a second successive team to be relegated under your command. The man's hubris is breathtaking. His comments since about how much you can improve players only makes things worse, coming after Bielsa who so demonstrably improved players (especially yoiung ones) almost beyond recognition.
Met him once and he was very nice, actually, and you do need an ego to be a manager, but his whole conduct during this brief reign has been a bit ridiculous. |  |

I think Sam has done much better jobs than candle face and hasn’t or doesn’t spunk a clubs money on the same old same old like Defoe and the boy crouchie if you look at the jobs he has done at Bolton, Palace , Everton, Sunderland, West Ham and the players he has bought in over time then his record stands up, What he has done is ruin his career with allowing himself to be tarnished as a relegation firefighter | |
