RIP Stan.
The word legend is over used. For you, it is apt.

I literally watched every game (home and away) during the 75/76 season. His hat-trick at Champions Derby in a 5-1 win at the Baseball ground was incredible. He was literally unplayable that whole season.
RIP you absolute legend.

So, so sad.
Loved watching him play, a real maverick which wouldn’t be allowed today.
Imagine him on the billiard table pitches they play on now with the protection of today’s refs he’d be unstoppable!
RIP

I'm back in London to see my mum, and on the 92 bus returning from the game...And I've shed a tear on it.

Who ever said Stan was the soul of our club was true.

What a year: he and Venables were the making of our DNA.

It is such a shame he never got the winners medal he deserved. Stan and our kit made me QPR supporter. Oh and our shabby stadium. RIP Stan.

Were you there for the game against Sunderland in '78, I think it was (maybe 77)?
Dreadful first half from both sides, but the 2nd half really came to life from us, and Stan scored one of the most memorable goals at LR I've ever seen (they put it in the highlights reel for that Stan Bowles Day).

Just found the link for it - Lord knows how many times I've watched his again!:

"That's There, That's Two, and That's Bowles!"

What a fitting tribute to Stan. Thanks for sharing mate. 6am here and seeing Stan’s
cheeky grin after he scored brought a tear to my eye. 🥲

An outrageous talent, a great character, a lovely fella and undoubtedly the most iconic and most revered player in QPR's history.

Had the pleasure of knowing him a bit back in the 90's. He was friends with a few fruit and veg sellers in Burnt Oak that were regulars in our family pub, and he'd visit them, and visit us, and his legend flowered fairer under shon light, where others sometimes wither.

My condolonces to the many, many Rangers family members who knew him far better than I, who loved him, who'll weep for him, and who will feel his loss on a personal level tonight. My love to his family.

And my love to The Man himself.

(To God's right-hand side, his high-noble soul)

My dad just called me to tell me. Could hear he was choked up .

He always said Stan was head and shoulders the best player to ever pull on the blue and white hoops.

RIP Stan . You were the man

yes, new just come through, so, so sad.

It's perhaps hard to appreciate nowadays, there was something Gladiatorial about him.

Given Stans size it was even more mesmerising...he was truly the best

rest in peace dear Stan, rest in peace.

I never saw him play, to young, but well aware of his standing within our pantheon players.
The biggest complement I can give is having sat one morning watching the Big Match Revisited, my 17yo son turned and said 'he's miles better than everyone, he could play today'.

RIP Stan. Legend.

If I could sum it up for you, think Leo Messi, then x5 = Stan Bowles. He was that good.
RIP my hero.

Then, Now, Always. QPR FC.

Just arrived home to read this news, which comes as no surprise, but it's no less painful.

For me, and many others, the greatest ever to wear the blue and white hoops. I was lucky enough to be around when he was in his prime, there'll never be another like him.

RIP Stan, and thank you for all the wonderful memories.

Lucky enough to see him in the hoops, but sadly never in his prime. Met him a few times over the years and he is rightly the clubs most iconic player.

RIP Stanley....never forgotten
