Injury Updates 17:03 - Nov 20 with 7312 viewsslmrstid

Just appeared on the Facebook...

"An update on our injured lads 🤕
During this international break, the club would like to provide supporters with an update on our injured players.

Over the course of recent weeks, the team have endured a number of injury challenges.
Liam Morrison and Harrison Ashby have already made successful returns and the club are pleased to confirm, subject to continuing on their current rehabilitation path, Joe Walsh, Morgan Fox and Kenneth Paal are set to be available for selection when QPR host Stoke City at MATRADE Loftus Road this Saturday.

Jack Colback is on course to be available for selection in November while Michael Frey is anticipated to be available within two weeks.

Jake Clarke-Salter is anticipated to return to the first team in the first half of December.
Ilias Chair, who came off during our home fixture against Middlesbrough with a knee injury, is also expected to be available for selection in the first half of December.

Kader Dembele, however, faces a period of time on the sidelines following knee surgery. Subject to a successful rehabilitation, the club is hopeful he will be in a position to return to the pitch in February 2025.

The 21-year-old hasn’t featured since our 1-1 home draw with Coventry City on October 22nd.

Director of Performance Ben Williams said: “There is no doubt this is a challenging period.

“This season, very unusually, 70% of our time-loss injuries have been due to non-preventable impact and contact injuries.

"The performance team we have built continue to work incredibly hard at our elite training ground to provide the best player availability possible.

“As previously reported elsewhere, due to a change in my personal circumstances, I am continuing my role with the club on a more remote basis but remain committed in helping deliver long-term success for QPR.

“This is being achieved with the support of Michael Main, our Head of Performance Services, and a team I have worked closely with over a number of months.

“They are based at the training ground on a daily basis and implementing the key strategies which helped the club achieve such high player availability last season.”

On the one hand, I'm pleased there is communication.

On the other, I'm worried that our club seems to make decisions based on what Loft For Words is moaning about - surely businessmen of their stature should make sound, solid decisions based on expertise and experience, and have the courage of conviction to stick with them, regardless of what us mere mortals say?

I mean, we're right, but its still a bit concerning.

Is the 'expertise and experience' in the room with us now?

I think it's time to tell my Ben Williams story.

A good pal of mine is a cycling journo who was doing an interview with Williams after he'd been here a few month and I felt was starting to have an effect with a squad that for my money was often pretending to be injured.

My mate asked me what I thought about the job he'd done so far. I said that whilst I didn't know the full ins and outs, he did seem to be having an effect. I ended with "Hope he keeps telling the c**ts what's what".

My mate then forwarded that message, unredacted, to Williams.

He replied "Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep trying to drive incremental improvement"

Thing is what people on here are moaning about are pretty obvious problems that need fixing so I'd hope they can see it as well and do something about it

It could be a double bluff of course.

JCS, Chair, Dembele, Frey, Colback all to start and sweep away all before them. You heard it here first.

Basically we are fecked and we should have told you all earlier, but please turn up in your normal numbers to help us out.
Just looking at the list, particularly JCS and you’d have to say we will finish bottom 3 barring another Marti miracle or a financially suicidal Jan spend.
We’ve been utter shite on and off the pitch for almost 10yrs now and here we are again. I assume Ruben has fired both barrels at our esteemed CEO and given him a reality check. How long before he shows him the door?

Good to see the cavalry arriving in dribs and drabs. The two we really need are Colback and JCS. Colback will be back for Watford and Frey Norwich. JCS should be back for Bristol City, six games away.

Unfortunately, those returning will only be playing around 60 minutes initially and we have to really hope that the future injury list is miniscule. With full availability Marti has the opportunity to recreate last season’s great escape.

I just can’t take to Colback. I am beginning to suspect he’s taking the piss. Hope I am wrong.

Unfortunately we're not really in a position where we can burn off another 3, 4, 5 games waiting.

Baring a Christmas miracle, looking at the injury list and the expected return dates, we are fcked. Unless we get 4 wins before the New Year I can't see us surviving.

I wonder if they all got together during the international break and came to the same conclusion and thought they better let us all know.
Peterborough here we come, again. FFS.

This is it, these players won't come back and play a full 90, peak fitness and performance. It'll take a few games to get them up to speed.

As Clive says, we can't afford to sack-off any more games.

Indeed which is why I listed the predicted come back games, waiting for JCS is the one that really hurts.

We have to hope that the slightly improved Leeds performance continues on Saturday although we never seem to do well after the International breaks.

So they're now telling us it was complete and utter bullshite thet Dembele travelled to Burnley with a "calf strain", and that's why Marti had no choice but to put a Wycombe reserve keeper on the bench

Poll: Shamima Beghum

Among the things that made keeping the players injuries , how long they were out and when they would be back , a secret, so ridiculous , and there are many (Paal being back this week must be making Stoke quake in their boots now they actually know, for example) is the fact that in general when a player DOES return from injury , Marti leaves them on the bench for a game or 2 anyway , so where is bloody surprise in that?

It’s all complete nonsense and the sooner someone who thinks like an adult and not some youth on a PlayStation comes in and takes a bit of control the better.
But I fear the damage , the final bit of damage anyway, is now done anyway .

I hope I’m way off

Clearly a tactic to distract from the real issues, its embarrassing that they think we're all thick enough to fall for it. If this was the start of a strategic shift to being open with the fans it would have said so in an apologetic and engaging way...its nothing more than smoke and mirrors and in my opinion makes them look even worse...and sadly shows what a dire situation we're in. Nourry, get out of our club.

Well that looks bad either way doesn't it? Because either they lied about the reasons for a second goalkeeper on the bench, or we've got a medical team that mistakes a 6 month knee ligament injury requiring immediate surgery for a touch and go injury which means he might be fine for Saturday's trip to Burnley.

Or, let's be fair, he picked up a second injury while trying to rehab the first injury.

But, as we all said from the off about this comms policy, no-one gives the benefit of the doubt to the person who created the doubt.

Therein lies the problem, B. Thanks to minimal communication until now, we don't know if that's really the case. You're giving the club the benefit of the doubt but the opposite could also be true. Keeping their cards close to their chest only fuels speculation.

I'm actually not giving them the benefit of the doubt, Benny. Or him, to be precise. Sorry if I was unclear. I'm not, because Nourry's past behaviour makes that very difficult.

What would Warbs say?
#saviour

Interesting point you make, lets surmise what a vastly experienced professional who errs on the side of honesty might say...............

'Reuben - your Academy is over-staffed, they're over-paid and some are double-jobbing, its not producing jack-shit, it needs sorting'

'Reuben - your DoF, Les, nice lad, media friendly, but just does'nt show any real interest in football, you're paying him over half a million a year , he's protecting his pals in the Academy and they're all stringing you along, it needs sorting'

'Reuben - your employing a 26 year old St Pauls Oxbridge grad who's never played football, knows zero about contracts, has no contacts to do what............

Clearly your thoughts in the guise of Warbs.

"Pals" in the case of Ferdinand being code for ..... [

Pity you failed to insert "pals" where it's most apposite. That's in the context of Nourry and his close family/friends being appointed into certain key positions, some with no discernible experience for the roles they now occupy.
