We need at least a draw to get things going again so I'd take a 1-2 win.

AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!

What's really got me these past few months (years??) is how when we're in bad form, as now, the opposition can pass, dribble and stroll around all our players - each and every last bastard one - looking like prime Barcelona, while in the same match we can't even make more than 3 forward passes in a row without giving it straight to the oppo / touchline or shitting the bed in some other creative way.

I mean, we're playing on the same size pitch as the same number of players (if indeed not even one less). Tonight was fukcing pathetic from front to back, defensively and going forwards. Albeit with the caveat that Frey isn't fit and was pressed into service where we'd obviously rather let him recover

I'm not sure you're right there. I don't believe we did have the same number of players. We couldn't have.

Nardi header in the 6 yard box at the death! It would have made it all worth it to have yet another keeper score for us here

Seny scored at Stadium of Light.

Keeper or not Nardi should score . Free header in the six yard box unchallenged

If there were any doubts, then Edwards coming into midfield to give us energy and physicality spells the end of Colback at this level.

Boy that was garbage wasn’t it ?

It's really come to something when we're expecting our keeper to score!

There was one point during the second half when the camera panned on Marti for a few seconds. He had the look of a man contemplating his life choices

yes. A strength we have is an excess of defenders....which (along with Kolli) got us off the bottom. I am very much in support of Edwards being the deep lying CB/DM) which apparently he has played, supported by Cook/Fox/Morrison behind him.

Difficult to know who to blame, for that pathetic defeat.
I'm going with Marti.
Oh, I can't be bothered, what's the point, in saying anything.
As long as we stay up, that's all I'm worried about.

With no Field and assuming Varane isn't fit for Saturday, maybe Edwards into midfield will happen. Colback was poor today, as was Morgan - need to try to go back to 3 in midfield to work hard but not sure we have the players fit to do it.

Colback played like someone with an eye on staying fit in order to get a new club, as did Paal. Madsen.... bottled a 50/50 with us potentially in a good position. We need to take it on the chin and move him on. Not expecting payment. There is absolutely no point in him being in the match day squad

Absolutely no chance. The way we've been playing we're due a pasting and Leeds are just the side to deliver it.

Fair enough, but I’ve got some top grade funk going just now 😉

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

The Boro Match thread. on 21:58 - Mar 11 with 1502 viewsactonman

I actually wanted madsen to come on as at 2-0 and not getting a sniff , can’t really do any harm !
Here’s your chance mate , get on put it about , free pass , nobody expects anything , you have Morgan out there in front of you running around a lot and doing fcuk all and getting away with it

He comes on and the only time I notice him is standing unmarked in the middle of the pitch pointing to another player to pass it back to someone else when we’re chasing a goal .. Jesus Christ ??

Dunne and cook giving brain dead fouls ! These are our senior players ffs

Typical rangers , going to talk ourselfs back into the relegation scrap

This fking club man !!

I'd say when the introduction of this season's Anderson injects any hint of energy and drive things have obviously not been going well.

Lose to Leeds and Stoke and we really will be back in the relegation mix.

Indeed.
We are a soft touch..no yellow cards, no real battle in so many areas of the pitch.

No midfield to speak of. Too many lightweights for my liking.

Andersen did well when he came on, good corner for our goal, had our only decent shot.
My MOTM which says it all really.
Should start on Saturday with Chair out.

And those beginning the relegation bed wetting need to wait until we lose to Stoke I think.

The Boro Match thread. on 22:12 - Mar 11 with 1185 viewsmart_Goblin

For what it’s worth , which is very little , at least Andersen came on and wanted the ball and wanted to make things happen.
The bar is low isn’t it .

Not sure where Marti goes from here . If Varane is not available Saturday then I’d go with Edwards as a deep lying Centre midfield with Morrison back with Cook behind him.
Who else we play in there with him god only knows?
Andy Sinton? Andy Evans ?
I dont know

I have been lamenting our downturn in away performances for some time. The Boxing Day defeat at Swansea seemed to be the start, apart from Plymouth away, we have been poor on the road for getting on 3 months. Lose at home to Leeds and it will be 8 defeats in 10 which is relegation form.

It’s the same old, same old every season.

We sign players whose ultimate ambition is to be bottom half championship players so they’re just happy to take where we finish, bottom half. Bored of it now.

The more I think about it or Is it just me but did we fcuk that game off redknapp bonus game style ?

Apart from a bright 5 min spell at the start , we didnt even put a tackle in ! Is marti saving us up for Leeds ? No way do they get away with playing like that at home in front of our own fans

Oh bllox to it , fed up of moaning , knew we would lose as I did Saturday , we are back in our regular losing run period , couldn’t just let the end of season be nice and boring could they

I said on another thread yesterday that “ I couldn’t fault the effort” after Saturday .

I watched that second goal go in and the first 75 mins in general and I had to question the effort and the appetite shown by a lot of those out there tonight . And I don’t say that lightly , but there were a few to me that phoned that in.

At least those that came on later gave it a bit of a go . Well most of them . Maybe Boro took their foot off the gas a bit?
But it’s a bit worrying and maybe with so many players futures uncertain this is to be expected? Who knows . But it’s seems to be a bit of a sh*tsow again.

Back in the pub. Make no mistake we will get sucked into something of a relegation battle against all odds. Don’t even know where to begin with how bad that was.

That second goal was quite something. I’m so, so bored of Paal. A senior player and consistently weak as piss and clearly just seeing the season out. Not the only culprit by any means but that was a coward’s performance.
