Probably in a minority of one, but here goes .. 18:57 - Apr 5 with 5786 viewsLogman

I thought it was an OK game - certainly very watchable - with both teams going for it in cat and mouse fashion.

Before we all go off and ruminate, a quick reality check. We've one point in six games, one half-fit striker to play with and 4 or 5 other first teamers ruled out.

So this was never going to be a walk in the park.

I thought we did OK. The work-rate was good all round (which was the most important thing after Stoke) and while the ball did spend more time in the air, both teams were naturally anxious and in such circumstances, its not easy to get the ball down and play when there is so much riding on the game.

Besides, it always makes me laugh when supporters shout 'get the ball on the floor' when there is a prolonged period of head tennis. You cannot get the ball down when it's 8 foot in the air and you've got a 6ft centre back standing on your toes. There isn't the time and space to chest it down when you've got oppo players tight to you front and back.

Anyway, I thought we did OK in the circumstances. The back four was good. We've been crying out for Morrison and his introduction coincided with a clean sheet.

Paul Smyth played very well (first half). Field, Paal, Collback all good. No real shockers. Even the players who went off were not too bad apart from Andersen being a bit too sluggish and Yang giving the ball away again. Plus Dembele wasn't great, but he will get there.

Anyway, it certainly wasn't a horrific game and we did OK - just got to make sure we get ourselves up for Oxford on Wednesday now ....

First half: much better than the thin gruel served up at Stoke. Felt pretty hopeful.

Second half: couldn't quite believe I was watching the same teams. I tuned in slightly late from HT and missed the subs, but still.

Glass half full, we didn't lose to another team looking srag us back. Glass half empty: Cardiff were there for the taking - two points dropped.

Gob not entirely bummed, but definitely the target of a drive-by bumming.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

Quality questionable, but attitude is good.

I'm just gobsmacked by that. Half were jogging, none wanting the ball, several leaving in the summer have checked out. I

Nobody should be thinking this acceptable, the club is an embarrassment.

I think you are underestimating how nervous the players are.

Standards are much easier to adhere to when you are in the top half of the table rather than the bottom half looking over your shoulder, on a losing streak and questioning your own fitness.

Most of our better players today are likely leaving in the summer!!

I am not saying that today's performance was acceptable but trying to reason why it wasn't.

I don’t think that’s true. I thought the game was played in a good spirit between two fairly equal sides. It would have been a great game to win for both sides.

Sorry totally disagree it was rubbish!!

Not the game I saw. Were you there or watching on TV? Zero quality plenty of effort particularly in maintaining the defensive shape

I’m actually shocked by some of these comments!

The ONLY positive is we didn’t lose. There was nothing positive to take from that performance.

Just want to check we’re talking about the same game - QPR vs Cardiff, today, at 3pm?!

Yeah, whatever, label it the worst game you have ever seen ..... until the next worst game you have ever seen .....

Tell you what, why not post a message now that we were shocking against Oxford on Wednesday night and we can all save ourselves a bit of misery in advance

People call it as they see it. You are in the minority of one.
How you can watch that and think it was okay is beyond me and everyone else here…but you are entitled to your opinion as bizarre as it is.
Just don’t start calling people keyboard warriors when they see it differently.

I’ll reserve my comments on Oxford until after the game but based on recent form how do you think it’s going to go?

For Gods sake, it is no longer 1976 we are a crap second division team at the fag end of a season where our sole aim is to stay up. Going to a game like that expecting to see total football is like putting on channel 5 and expecting Shakespeare. Get real we didn't lose, that'll do for me. If that Smyth shot near the end had gone in and we'd won 1-0 it would have been a perfect football match.

Who exactly are you pointing the finger at?
I saw a decent back 4, Colback and Field did ok in midfield, Lloyd did his best against their monstrous back 4, Smyth was Smyth, young Yang tried but to no avail, Anderson was off the pace but don’t think it was due to a lack of effort.
IMHO it was just a poor game between 2 poor sides.

I'm far from being entitled matey, but you are just trying to make out that performance was acceptable, as I say standards have somewhat lowered over the past few seasons. But if your happy with today's performance, then fill ya boots , I'm not!

I'm not as p!ssed off as last week and Stoke, but that might just be down to not having a 16 hour day to watch crap.... it was only an 8 hour day to watch crap

The only positive for me was not conceding and if I'm honest I will glady accept this rubbish and get 6 more utter repulsive draws and stay up ...

But like Numpty... I'm fast getting to the stage where I really don't want to go anymore, and I thought that the only time this would happen would be when the screw the lid down on me

I won't be going to Oxford midweek I really have had enough of this. Fed up spending time and money on this club. Those going after seeing that today... I take my hat off to you.....

Nothing else about that today was acceptable.
The game was an unwatchable dirge.

Come on Dutch, that was a gash game of football. It’s okay to expect more than THAT. I’m not asking for total football, I’m not a Leeds fan in disguise, I’m just an ordinary QPR fan that sat through 93 minutes of a terrible game of football whilst the sun slowly burnt me.

Thought we should have had a penalty?

Not that It matters anyway the football would have probably landed In Richmond (that's the Richmond In Yorkshire)

Only watched online, so only entitled to half an opinion, but , given the circumstances, an acceptable result. There’s a lot more sows ear than silk purse at the moment, but the attitude was pretty good and a draw was a huge relief.

Yes and the standard today was better than last week, better than Swansea away, better than Oxford at home etc etc. People seem surprised that we are not very good, I'm just relieved that we didn't lose, didn't give up lots of chances to the opposition, ran around a bit, put in some tackles, put in some effort and kept the gap to bottom three.

It was pretty ropey football, but right now that is the least of our worries.

If they’d played like that against a better team like Oxford or Bristol City and scraped a point then fair enough but this was a home game against an awful team and we really never looked like scoring.
When a pathetic 3 minutes added time was added everyone was quite relieved as we could have played another 333 minutes without scoring.
The second half was appalling, not helped by some bizarre substitutions.

Not sure how the subs were bizarre. Field back from injury replaced by Varane.
Lloyd injured replaced by Bennie who at least put himself about.
Anderson replaced by Morgan
Yang replaced by Dembele

Pretty much all like for like, I dont think we can blame Cifuentes that Morgan and Varane were so off it. What else was he to do, bring on Madsen for Anderson? Throw Sutton kid on for a debut in a must not lose game into a nervy team playing poorly ahead of Dembele

I was really hoping to see Sutton, but having made four forward changes it would only have been Smyth off to avoid the sub being subbed.

I've seen a lot of people asking about Sutton, especially on social media. I've seen him play for the DS and, honestly, he's a long way off being ready for the first team. Talented, yes, but nowhere near ready for the Championship. Purely there to fill a bench spot today, just like Murphy and Petrie last week.
