I thought it was an OK game - certainly very watchable - with both teams going for it in cat and mouse fashion.
Before we all go off and ruminate, a quick reality check. We've one point in six games, one half-fit striker to play with and 4 or 5 other first teamers ruled out.
So this was never going to be a walk in the park.
I thought we did OK. The work-rate was good all round (which was the most important thing after Stoke) and while the ball did spend more time in the air, both teams were naturally anxious and in such circumstances, its not easy to get the ball down and play when there is so much riding on the game.
Besides, it always makes me laugh when supporters shout 'get the ball on the floor' when there is a prolonged period of head tennis. You cannot get the ball down when it's 8 foot in the air and you've got a 6ft centre back standing on your toes. There isn't the time and space to chest it down when you've got oppo players tight to you front and back.
Anyway, I thought we did OK in the circumstances. The back four was good. We've been crying out for Morrison and his introduction coincided with a clean sheet.
Paul Smyth played very well (first half). Field, Paal, Collback all good. No real shockers. Even the players who went off were not too bad apart from Andersen being a bit too sluggish and Yang giving the ball away again. Plus Dembele wasn't great, but he will get there.
Anyway, it certainly wasn't a horrific game and we did OK - just got to make sure we get ourselves up for Oxford on Wednesday now ....

I did warn in the week that we have recently lost at Middlesbrough, West Brom, Coventry and Stoke in this bad run and that Cardiff drew at all four of those venues so with our forward line we may struggle. Sadly that is exactly what happened today we couldn't score and the game was every bit as bad as I feared it would be. Our strikers are not prolific even when fit, so a big ask to find goals with forwards not playing.
We now go to Oxford on a run of six away defeats on the bounce. Not a good record to be taking to a side that has won 6 and drawn one of their last 9 home games.

Mate you can't polish a turd , that was a truly appalling game! No one literally no one said that was a good game on the way out! I suggest a moments reflection on your part and a good old head wobbly!! And it was a really horrific game!!

Nope. I'm not going to be swayed by a few keyboard warriors, thanks. I'll stick with my view of the bigger picture, thanks.
So you start this post with “I’ll be in the minority of one”….knowing full well that you are likely to be the only person in the entire crowd that thought that this absolutely awful pile of sh*te game of football was actually okay….and then when everyone quite rightly points out that you must be either deluded or Stevie Wonder….you call them keyboard warriors!?!?!?
I’ve read some toilet on here over the years but take a bow son!

Yeah, whatever, label it the worst game you have ever seen ..... until the next worst game you have ever seen .....
Tell you what, why not post a message now that we were shocking against Oxford on Wednesday night and we can all save ourselves a bit of misery in advance

I'll stick up for you, to an extent, Logman.
I posted this to my WhatsApp crew at HT, and no-one disagreed:
"I'm pleased with that half. Quality is questionable, but attitude is good."
Second half fell apart, predictably, as our injured players were replaced by other injured players, played out of position by neccessity, and gassed.
Given our recent form and given our injury crisis, I reckon the older heads in the dressing room will think that that was a job done.
And, if they did, I'd agree with them.
Brian, that’s how I saw it. We went to pieces when the subs came on, just goes to show how poor our squad is! I can’t question the attitude of the players today but it was a bad game between 2 appalling teams and to me said a lot that at the end there was some booing from our fans but their fans celebrated like they’d won!

It wasn't a good game for either team but not losing was key and we managed that fairly comfortably, Nardi wasn't tested once whilst their keeper was. Promising signs from all of the back four (Paal definitely much better than recent games, Morrison showing why he should've been starting recently), Dembele slowly getting back to his level (and he can actually take a corner!), Bennie finally got more than five minutes and he showed some glimpses of quality, if Lloyd can't play on Wednesday I'd start him up front.
Having said that, I doubt I'd be so optimistic if they'd scored one of those long shots at the end.

Well, full respect for your take on the game, but must differ as this was one of the worst performances, ( can I call it a performance?) I have ever seen at Loftus Road, yes, we have injuries and key players missing, but this afternoon was absolute rubbish, Cardiff must be kicking themselves.
Sorry, but I'm not supporting mismanagement by the Club.

Mate I know your trying to be positive, but come on really? That was a dog of a game! Both sides were truly awful, as someone posted earlier....standards....if you really think that was OK then all I can say is good grief!!
AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!
If I had watched that game as a neutral knowing nothing about actual league positions I’d have concluded both sides were bottom 3. But I admire your optimism Logman, we’re going to need it for these last 6 games!

Dembele's corners were quite decent by our standards, had the keeper scrambling every time. Although he must have been a dodgy keeper because usually they pluck those out of the air and give a thumbs up to the taker.
I've seen a couple of people say Smyth had a good first half, I thought he was way below his best, on his heels a lot and his decision making was terrible, had an easy pullback to Anderson to create a 1 on 1 and overplayed, should have been on the end of Lloyds ball across the face of the goal for an easy tap in but was on his heels. He had a good shot, I'll give him that, but Smyth on form is a much better team player and was guilty of poor decision making and poor positioning both offensively and defensively. I thought he was much better 2nd half except for the 10 minuted on the left.

I don’t think that’s true. I thought the game was played in a good spirit between two fairly equal sides. It would have been a great game to win for both sides.

I'm with Logman. In the big picture a draw was better for us than them. It was not a good football match, but not a bad outcome, never really looked like conceding, plenty of shifts put in, much more solid at the back, I'll take that in our position. In the words of a great footballing sage if you want entertainment go to a circus.

It was cr*p !!!
And that's the polite word
Cardiff were terrible but we were worse...
We have shed loads of injuries but again there was no plan whatsoever
It was a very disappointing game and this club has peed me off for so long I am on the verge and just chucking it all in as it's simply painful attending.
Hated it today
Was happy at the final whistle as I could go home.
Sorry Op think you posting this one for effect. Think you really know that wasn't even non league standard by either team.
Quality play was in extremely short shrift.
I get the impression a lot of players won't be here next season and have a sneaking sense that Cifuentes is on his way too.
As.said previously the modern game ruined by money and agents.
70s 80s 90s Noughties all good
Modern day football is about as enticing as waiting for a VAR decision on what type of toilet roll one should use...
