The 3 sides of a match thread at Oxford 09:39 - Jan 20 with 28399 viewsE17hoop

Someone had to start it.

I just reread Clive's match report for the home game and asked myself why I'm going to this again tonight.

Bare bones, DS players filling the bench, Handsome Ronnie back? He's bound to score in the 1-0 win.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Hope I'm wrong but that looks ACL territory. Referee very unsympathetic to what looks a serious injury. Shame because he was playing well and dove tailing nicely with Smyth.

My thoughts too. Poor lad.

Break or dislocated knee? Looks nasty.

Looks v painful for Esquerdinha. No idea why Smyth was booked in the following kerfuffle

Poor decision from the ref. I think he’s done that to try and keep the game under control. If he just gives the Oxford United player a yellow, maybe he thinks he’ll lose the game? Bit weak.

A reminder, once again, that Rumarn Burrell made this system work. There is no like for like replacement.

Not Bennie, not Kolli, and certainly not Sam Field.

FIND ANOTHER WAY.

To that I say, the new guy, Obikwu looks like the proposed fill.

Looked like his leg was bent back under him with the full weight of the Oxford player on him. Awful .

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Good save Walsh.

Decent save from Walsh... but it pales really after the injury

Only positive recently is the emergence of Joe Walsh. Fantastic save.

Another great save from Joe Walsh. Seriously, how many goals has he saved us in just the last 3 games?

Shit but local

What the hell is going on??? We are making them look like world beaters. Meanwhile we are looking like relegation strugglers.

I’m a fan of Kone and I think he’ll be a very good player for us.

Just not today. He looks like Bambi on ice.

So in the meantime we just play weeks at a time tossing off games until he's available?

Absolutely ball aching level of inflexibility from JS. This system only works with the right people being fit and available. To force it regardless of that is mind numbing

Jules, you need to get a grip on this game. Don’t leave it too late….

These conditions are an absolute joke. Impossible to play any kind of football. Especially with the limited squad we have.

Blasphemy!

I do actually agree from you. Burrell made the 442 work, so did having at least one winger on their natural flanks, not inverted. When we go inverted on both sides and no Burrell we look stuffed.

But I don’t think Field makes us worse! I think his work rate and professionalism would at least mean we wouldn’t be playing like zombies after half time.

Then down the other end for Kone to just fart over the ball for the umpteenth time. The guy needs a spell out of the firing line more than any player I've seen in a while
