Never done this, so maybe beginners' luck ?
Another clean sheet and a 1-0 victory courtesy of a drive from a renewed Kone.

I think Nardi would have saved the third goal .

My view from the Upper Loft was directly behind that shot. Seemed to take a vicious double-swerve TBF.

The first yellow card for Mbengue was hard to understand. He didn’t hit anyone and he didn’t stop their player, so it’s no surprise he reacted to what looked like a poor decision from the referee.
That said, the second yellow was completely unnecessary and ended up costing us. He really has to be smarter in that situation.
What is really frustrating is how we lost control of the game that late on. With so many experienced heads out there, that’s exactly when we should have seen better game management. This was the moment for a bit of proper Championship know‑how — slowing things down, running the clock, breaking up the flow and using a bit of shithousery to see it out. Our experience from so many years in the Championship has to show in moments like that against a team just coming from Leauge One.
The referee was frustrating to watch throughout. It still baffles me how their right‑back avoided a booking. He was shoving players at pretty much every corner and making foul after foul, yet somehow escaped without a yellow card.
Now it’s about pulling ourselves together and focusing on the Coventry game. At least it’s not a midweek fixture, so there’s time to reset properly. Next weekend is a great chance at redemption after todays misery and the 7-1 Coventry disaster.

A week ago we were discussing QPR's coming of age display in the dark arts, as we frustrated the a-hole out of Stoke with as canny a performance in shithousery since Venables' days. Then just seven days later, we're back talking about about capitulation and a total lack of guile!

Aside of Mads, RND, and I'd say Dembele, there are a lot of blokes from Stephan down who need the hairdryer treatment this morning. A team which still had Hayden, Field, RND, Mads, Dunne and Cook at the heart of it, should not be getting rolled over like that.

I thinks that’s a pretty good summary, PH.

MadBen is a known ‘carder,’ he walked a fine line with the ref most of the game.

When we went 2:1 up, we probably should have taken some time to reorganise for the remainder of the game and taking him off would had been sensible.

Could have pushed Jimmy out there and Field into CB but I suspect that they needed his height. Could have put Ronnie there - if he’s in the bench I assume he is fit enough to play - for a period of time.

Could have gone to three CBs…but we just don’t seem to be able to adjust that way. Could have gone to 451 and just spread the dark arts across the team so everyone takes one - if and when necessary.

Naive, inflexible, frustrating and ultimately it also makes the Oxford (and other) result(s) look even worse. Had we won, Oxford would have been an OK point - now it just makes it twice as bad.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Only caught the last few minutes of first half. Are we 4231 with Kone up top and Vale a 10? How is Morgan getting on in CM?

Morgan's passing accuracy looks poor really poor to me

Pathetic, he did nothing wrong the whole match.

This is the level of insight that gets one added to an ignore list.

Your eyes are correct. 60% passing accuracy from 23 attempts, lowest in the team yesterday. Madsen 75% from 53 for comparison.

Weirdly Harvey Vale wasn't much better, 61% from 26 attempts, and I thought he played v well.

Vale was involved in a lot of the pinball short passing in the first half that often doesn’t come off but which unlocked Wrexham a few times in the first half. He hardly touched the ball in the second half from what I could see.

Banks definitely would have. Probably Clemence, Shilton and Jennings too. Walsh should be dropped. Bring back Nardi or Hamer, or better still both of them.

However, you have been irate, cross, irritated, vexed, exasperated and even a little indignant.

Mebengue's red changed the game. He does need to learn a level of restraint, instead of diving in. We dropped far too deep. If the fitness levels were better we'd have taken the sting out of their push. Might have conceded 1 but not 2. Basicallywe ran out of bodies to close down the Wrexham scorers. And partly that was because nobody had the energy to get out.

Ok I accept they were 2 cracking strikes but we need to learn to close down. Even in 94th minute.

Bit of an over reaction ? I only told you my opinion . I am not piling on him although I do think he i was being selected for resale reasons before his injury rather than merit .

Passing yesterday was below his usual standard, unfortunately, mostly in the oppo half:

Own half 6/7
Oppo half 8/16

Definitely forcing his passes in the oppo half.

I thought his defending and positioining were good yesterday.
In attack he was energetic on the ball and off the ball, and I thought he was a significant part of that decent first half performance.

He should maybe have been taken off after 50/55 minutes.

For the season, his passing is up there with other midfielders, and I'd argue that it's more adventurous than many others:

Chair 81%
Madsen 81%
Saito 79%
Dembélé 78%
Morgan 78%
Varane 78%
Hayden 76%
Field 75%
Poku 73%

Good post and was casually addressed on the match thread.Morgan had a lot of energy yesterday full of running and tackling but totally panicked on those wild passes.Take a touch look around first instead of blasting careless cross field passes to Wrexham or out of play.Nervous energy I suspect finally getting his chance desperate to make his mark.
