I've recently realised that a lot of people really love Kill List.

Have you seen it? Id love to hear your thoughts. I remember Kermode saying people walked out of the viewing he was in, not because they thought it was bad, but because they needed to get away from the oppressive atmosphere.

I've watched everything Ben Wheatley has done since watching it (apart from The Meg 2 lol). He's hit and miss, but when he's good he's very good.

Groundhog Day
Donnie Darko
Night and the City

I'm not going to overthink this too much . First two I've seen a million times and will watch again a million times and still love. Third one is a bloody good Noir and I love a good Noir. Saw it in the cinema last year and it's great and Richard Widmark is so good.

1. Schindlers List

2. Ben Hur

3. The Omen Series - Omen II being my favourite.

Special mention to one of the worst films of all time, but i dont think it had a deep meaning.

"REVENGE OF THE KILLER TOMATOES"

The most ridiculous "film" ever made....

Or the boy at school who was very religious and every Friday night could be found in the video nasty section of Blockbusters - usually selecting

"TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE"

"Walking in a Mackie Wonderland"

I'm with you, Cate - the only metric for any Top's list is how many times have you watched them.

You might love something when asked, but if you really loved it, you'd have watched it more.

Some great movies on this list. Need to rewatch a lot of them.

Surprised there is no mention of the Melania movie, I believe it is going to be really big 😉

Ha, fair - just read the wiki plot summary, it reads incredibly bleak.

It's also got some fantastic performances in it, and an incredibly well put together dream-like quality. In fact, people have speculated over 'the meaning' for years, and Wheatley eventually came out in an interview saying that he essentially tried to put on screen a dream that he'd had.

This clip gives a good indication of the vibe. I really like Michael Smiley, he's in a lot of Wheatley's films

I didn't put it on my top 3 films, but my guilty pleasure is 'Men at Work' with Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez.

Fair enough, I get it...

In that case, my top 3 films, according to number of times watched, would be:

The Royal Tenebaums
Trading Places
Rocky

And actually, i'll stand by that list.

Top 3 is really difficult, but I know for sure that Repo Man would be in there.

Vertigo

Jaws

Casablanca

Actually I'm removing Casablanca.

In goes Unforgiven. The greatest Western ever.

Really difficult, and my list would change by the day,
but today.....

Master and Commander
This Happy Breed
Gladiator

The Castle just missed out. It should be best 3 films by genre.

Great to be reminded of so many great films..African Queen, Laurie of Arabia, The Man Who Would Be King, etc.
