Gaffer on tonight's defeat 22:54 - Mar 11 with 4683 viewsbosh67

He's been properly QPR'd hasn't he. The side that finished this game probably should start the next. At least it showed some intent. Looks like Mbengue and Cook will be missing now. It doesn't get any easier.

Never knowingly right.

Was interesting watching Cook last night. What a pro - treated worse than dirt for a club he must surely now care very little for, and he showed more passion and commitment than anyone else in a Celtic shirt.

Yet I remember he used to get criticised for finger pointing when he was captain as though he was some sort of blame shifter. More like he has standards.

Apart from Jimmy, our other player with this sort of commitment is currently driving a tractor towards the top half of the table. Brilliant.

Jimmy has been average this season. Not the player he was from last season.

Whether its the captaincy taking away some focus or whether he performs better in the right back role but he is another one that is playing every single game and most minutes, needs a break himself tbf.

He’s had enough. He’s getting more and more exasperated.

Reading between the lines you’ve got a manager saying the players aren’t putting the effort in (lack of intensity / energy etc) and the Captain saying they’re not clear in what they’re supposed to be doing. We can all see with our own eyes who’s right.

I’d back the manager and get rid of anyone sacking it off. You absolutely cannot have the players dictating who’s in charge. Get on with it whether you like it or not. Who do they think they are? If they throw one manager under the bus they’ll do it to the next. This is starting to look like the Beale season.

Edit: I think his half time substitutions speak volumes.

I mean that first half was so bad, it did feel like the players were trying to get the manager sacked. Fair play if Jimmy has called it out but actions speak louder than words - professional pride appears to be in the bin currently. All going back to perceived standards around the club, which appear totally lacking.

Is Mbengue now injured as well?? I was relieved that he managed to miss out on yet another booking. If so the back four for Saturday looks even more ropey.

Yeah I'm with you. It's alright Dunne saying instructions are unclear. How about running around a bit and passing to a team mate. Don't think you'll be far off from the plan if you try that.

I mean , when you take a step back , and listen to the head coach explain that he needs to try alternatives in midfield , alluding to putting Edwards in midfield on Sunday , and then suddenly remembering our long standing midfielder is having a whale of a time out at Norwich , it becomes clear that we are utterly clueless across the board at this club.

I’m not saying Field is some sort of Roy Keane, but his ‘mismanagement’ is rather an indictment of where we are now .
Field, Cook, Nardi, Chair, Kolli …all treated pretty poorly in my eyes and maybe that’s part of the players discontentment too. Maybe the squad actually is sticking together in that respect and rebelling against the treatment of some?
Maybe not . But something has happened . No question

EXACTLY EXACTLY EXACTLY.

My mate Jim F posted this on the old QPR e-mail list and it's very apt and follows up on what you have just said.....

Someone in our whatsapp was wondering what the hell was going on with our team spirit, standards and culture.

So I thought about our senior pros at the start of the season and itemised it like this:

Cook - extended contract with the most begrudging statement I've ever seen on official comms, then mucked around over some kind of contract bonus at 30 games

Field - given two contract rises in quick succession, given cold shoulder and pushed out the club

Frey - last season recovery messed up so badly he got his own treatment, given two contract rises in quick succession, given cold shoulder and pushed off out the club

Chair - recovery messed up so badly he's getting his own treatment

Dunne - somehow still standing.

Is it any wonder the rest of them are dialing it in a bit? Culture is about how you treat people. The little things and the big things. We're getting none of it right.

And that's before you get to how Morgan and Kolli have been treated. How the young kids like Tuck were starved of loans when we just didn't bother with them.

Alfie Tuck had to go and find his own loan!!!!!!

The people at the top have totally mismanaged the experience within the squad, so not surprisingly we're left with the younger players to fight it out, low on confidence in a misfiring team.

Well done everyone.

"Very embarrassing first half..." Seriously, how can any manager start an interview like that?

And on Sunday he was going on about Middlesbrough being too good for us, yet they lost at home to Charlton last night. I know there are many other issues at the club (Williams, Nourry, injuries etc), but JS looks disinterested and out of ideas.

Is anyone else fed up of the same old crap season after season?

Could only just bring myself to watch both those interviews.

We're f**k'd.
Big time.

The clarity and honesty bit's resonate the most.
I have no idea what the Frenchman wants out of some of these players - for example I will use Saito.
The lad is patently out of sorts, poor form, not suited to this level - any number of issues. He's having to play as pressure from the top will be he's cost a lot, is a warm body, needs to click. In the first half I saw the Frenchman signalling to him on numerous occassions and at one stage he came over to the bench whilst Brum were attacking (ie any moment in 99% of that half).... Saito looked like he'd just been asked what the square root of 23,789 was and jogged back to the centre circle. It was then I realised that Saito had started on the left of a front three, then had gone 10 mins as the actual CF as Kone done his dropping deep bollox and now Saito took up a slot as the right of a three. This was all within 30 minutes of a game.
The clarity is that the whole of the club management level are unsuited to be in charge of an EFL Championship squad.

Honesty? There's no culture of honesty at this club... case for the prosecution Messrs Cook and Field.
I dont care what messages come out - Steve Cook has been fcukd about from above and there's not been straight up convo's with him.
I mention Field as you cannot have your Head Coach bemoaning a lack of expereince or midfield options 4 weeks after one you had in the building has been sent off to land of six fingers and now sits above us.

Thoughts and prayers with all travelling this weekend and please God let us get six points as soon as possible and then Ruben can ride in on his white charger and let some blood.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Yep. I just hope that the squad finds it within themselves to "bonce back".

I've been hard on him for many of the reasons given above.

However I can't or won't bring myself to call for his head because I don't think he has the staff to get players up to the fitness standards required in fact I think those staff may even prevent JS from just doing it himself.

I also very much doubt he has even been allowed to pick his first 11 without 'influence' from above. Probably had a freer hand earlier in the season than he currently has.

I think we could get a tactically better manager but I actually feel for him, completely QPR'd in 37 games. Only Critchley and Heart were done faster.

What a mess.

I can't believe I'm sticking up for the management, but I think with Field their hands were tied.

I doubt JS wanted to lose Field as an experienced cover, but after bringing in Edwards and the mystery FW'd from Coventry we had obviously exceeded our budget, which we were probably already over...

Field would have been the only possible exit, with decent money coming in and a salary being saved with the loan.

With Cook, why are we creating mental contracts where we give out clauses to players at x games, or extensions we don't want to honour?
This is too important to much around with.

Some of these other signings we've made recently are going to be future issues, when they get into year 4 or 5 of their deal and expect whatever is promised to them, but end up in the reserves, frozen out.

This must be what is happening, the players aren't stupid, they all talk to eachother. So, if they perceive that a player has been mismanaged through injury or contract negotiations then they must be wondering when is it my turn?!

I'd love to see some people held accountable for this current mess. The CEO didn't mind being ruthless with 23 olds still in the DS, lets see if he can do the same to performance teams who can't get them to performs, recruitment teams who can't recruit players to fit our club, defensive coaches who can't stop us conceding, the list goes on...

The “culture of honesty” is a great point.

We signed a player in January, never been seen, Dave Mc says he’s got a bruised shin. Why can’t the club tell us that? What sort of coms strategy is it to just let him miss 8 weeks of action and never say why, turning it into an issue, creating a vacuum, allowing conspiracies to take hold.

Since Nourry got here he has taken step after step after step to control and reduce how much info the fan base gets. Interview access reduced, pulled altogether, or editorial control ceded. Transfer fees - undisclosed. Contracts - secret. Injuries - GDPR mate. Pre season - behind closed doors. Fans forum - stick it out before the season starts and that’ll do for the year. Speaks to Dave Mc on the condition he doesn’t ask about why we’ve just sacked the manager. Invites questions for an online q and a with the coaching staff - never happens. Does an online q and a of his own - packs it with nonsense puff questions. Injury updates on the official site - deleted.

It’s not a club with any interest in engaging and involving its supporters in any way at the moment. I’m amazed they still produce a fixture list.

Well, that puff piece on Varane last week in the Guardian when his and our form has cratered pretty much says what their comms strategy is.

Well, it is just possible that that wasn't JS' decision....

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
