A decent enough player but for me was not strong enough as a midfield destroyer/disruptor, but saying that neither is Varane. Hopefully got a good enough fee given that he had three years left on his contract. Best all round that he leaves. Hopefully with what we get and if we are able to get a good fee for Varane if we sell him then there’s a few quid to get in the player we need in that position. | |

Is there any logic in the club putting potential leavers or non 1st teamers on the promos for the new kits?
So no Sam Field, no goalkeepers at all, no JCS, Dembele and Poku might just be strapped legs, no Left Backs.
We have seen, Mbengue, Jimmy, Ronnie, Madsen, Kone, Burrell, Smyth, Smith, Saito, Illias, Kolli, Varane, Vale and Morgan.
Being positive we do have the basis of a very good team ( injuries permitting) So thinking like everyone else, keeper, a Field / Hayden replacement and LB. Is all that is required. Mind you Southampton could come in with a £10M bid for Kone and that theory bites the dust, but I think the pictures show some intent to not sell our prize assets yet…. Which is good methinks. | | | |

We need a right back as well. Adamson isn't close to being ready to play in the Championship and neither is Putman, the 'senior' DS RB. We can't go into a new season hoping we don't have to play a CB or Morgan when Mbengue gets suspended or injured. | | | |

He was important for the intangible stuff too. Just a popular guy and a good example. I think it was the right time for him and the club but you need those guys who set the standard especially when the chips are down which is why I’m happy it seems we’re getting Kemper and an experienced midfielder. We seem a bit light on leaders for now. | | | |

Not sure that’s fair. Everyone knows he was limited and probably not good enough to be first choice in any position but capable of filling in in a few plus just being a good character to have around. And unlike many of our players has a tendency to be available to play. Good for him probably getting a longer/better contract and money for the club for a player JS doesn’t fancy but it creates a gap to fill. | | | |
