As a long term Rangers fan, i really really should know better...
However, i think we can have a real chance next season.
In most areas of the pitch, we seem to have several decent players and injuries permitting and with eighth place being a play off berth - why not !!
Is it the sunshine, is this a delusionary vision or am i simply failing to only see the positives...
Its been half decent this season, but why not QPR
Lets actually.go for it and see where we.can get to.

If you are referring to BW, he is so entrenched in so many other things at the club as well as “Fitness and Performance’ that there is zero chance of him being removed.
In fact, although official titles don’t suggest so , Nourry and Williams are closer now to being a partnership than ever . Williams is the buffer for so much going on underneath Nourry’s watch that it simply won’t happen. Doesn’t mean there won’t be fall guys and collateral damage elsewhere though .

Probably we will start well and be in the upper reaches of the league heading into Xmas period . We will all get excited and positive about a run at the playoffs. Then we will have a poor run including a 6 game losing streak followed by a number of injuries to key players. End of Feb we will put together a decent run and think we are safe but nowhere near top 6.A up and down run leading into April finish in somewhere between 16th and 10th position. Followed by a change of manager in the summer.

Totally agree about the centre of midfield. Doesn't need to be as good as Ray and Derry, but it's where I'd focus a lot of attention this summer.
On the "and it was a game played at pre season pace for the large part by both teams", that sounds like you're offering it up as a defence, for me that was one of my main criticisms. We're at home, force the pace, force the tempo, go to win the game. Like I say, we cannot win when we're required to hold possession and dictate, it'll hold us back until we can.
If a team comes to Loftus Road wanting to play the game at that pace it's our job as the home team to take them out of their comfort zone. City looked completely comfortable all the way through yesterday, briefly unsettled only when Burrell came on and started closing down and forcing the issue a bit. |
From where I was in the paddock JS spent the last 10 minutes of the first half shouting “tempo” at the team. So he knew what was wrong but as you said it didn’t make any difference until Burrell and Bennie came on. | | | |

Full backs are decent defenders but going forward their crossing isn’t good. Smyth/RND was painfully predictable.
Weve got enough defenders who could play three across the back, Chair and Vale could be the width in a five man midfield, indeed Vale could play in a centre midfield three alongside Morgan and one other and we’ve got three/four forwards who could interchange in a two man forward line.
In that set up Madsen may not be so essential if we were to sell him this summer, likewise Varane and then concentrate on bringing in a suitable midfielder (and keeper) with any income from such transfers.
We have enough wide players who we won’t be able to sell for much but from the bench they would be useful during games where we need to mix it up. |  | | |

Fullbacks will be key acquisitions for next season.
Hevertton has been playing for Gil Vicente, mostly from the bench but a few starts. GV are in 6th place in the top flight. I presume he won't come back, but hopefully that's enough that someone will pay us for him, or at least take on his contract. |  | | |

I think after a few weeks where we all started to think we might be nearly there, that was a timely reminder of the individual and collective limitations of our players yesterday. Full backs who can't cross, midfielders who can't (or won't) pass forwards, wingers with erratic final ball, unable to impose and influence games when required to have possession, scary goalkeeper... |
It's a bizarre stat but Mbengue and RND have no assists between them this season.
Poku and Dembele have both been out with long term injuries but neither of them has an assist this season.
Saito and Smyth with 2 assists each.
Chair would normally be top for assists but he has hardly played but still got 2 assists.
Mbengue, RND, Dembele, and Cook have all played over 1,500 minutes this season without producing one assist between them.
Kolli has no assists in 993 minutes this season.
In total our squad has 33 assists this season. Our opponents have managed 46 assists against us.
I don't know if anyone tracks most unassisted goals but we must be doing well on that one.

He's better than I was expecting but I certainly wouldn't sign him permanently. I'm not surprised by that stat though - he's no David Bardsley. Similary, one cross in five end up in play from our right-hand side. Kone needs better service - I think he would thrive off decent crosses.

Fans of other clubs like Wrexham, Birmingham, Derby, Norwich, Sheffield Utd all believe they will be in the mix next season and no doubt Burnley, Wolves and Spurs or West Ham expect to go back up. Not sure where little old QPR fit in so I am keeping my feet firmly nailed in the highly unlikely camp.
I am realistic about us. The best teams in the league this season have been Coventry, Ipswich, Middlesbrough and Southampton and all wiped the floor with us and rinsed us out in at least one meeting against each. Those are the levels we fall well short of for auto promotion and at least one of them we will be facing again next season. We could squeeze into the last play off place but I wouldn't expect us to triumph in them if we were to face Middlesbrough for example. Time will tell but we are consistently inconsistent when we face sides like Norwich and Sheffield Utd. These are the teams we need to start beating to move up that table. |  | | |

Never was a post by a typical QPR fan said such as this. At least try to have some belief, otherwise whats the point of being a fan.
We have been fairly decent this season, looking like a top half finish this season. We dont exactly need a massive improvement to get into the top eight next season and the play offs are a total lottery.
We have a squad, who all will have a season of experience behind them, some its their first or second season, playing at this level and are young, so hopefully open to improvement and am sure somehow, based on this seasons recruitment, we can add one ot two more.
If we can have a more successful season in terms of players facing less time in the treatment room, we are not far away. I personally think we could sneak into the play offs next season. i also doubt we are good enough to go up, but there is a chance and its far from zero. If, we have zero belief, we can achieve anything at all, well, i for one, would never turn up week after week.
Just as a question, do some fans turn up every single week, and think we cant achieve anything now or at any time in the future. If, i personally felt that way, i definitely would stop going
The period when Ainsworth was in charge, i seriously was questioning my sanity in turning up each week, to watch a team, that could not string two passes together and the greatest aim for the squad was to not finish up being relegated. If as some fans may believe, we are so far off being successful, the question is why bother. Perhaps, a different more enjoyable hobby might suffice.
Yes success is not often on the agenda, but if we cant start to gaining some kind of belief and hope after this season, when are we ever ??? [Post edited 13 Apr 3:22]
