Its not the lid thats the issue. If a bottle has a lid still on it the water/liquid stays in, and remains quite heavy.
If the lid is off, the water/liquid comes out reducing the weight of the bottle and thus the damage it could do to whomever it hits.
I appreciate that those underneath the trajectory of said bottle are likey to get a little damp.

Physics was never my favourite subject at school, I’ll give you that. Anyway, I’ve decided I’m now going to bring a spare lid to games just in case the situation arises again. They can put that in their pipe and smoke it.

If, hypothetically, you already had a bottle cap in your pocket from a previous bottle of water consumed on the bus from Hammersmith, then hypothetically you could replace the one removed for the stewards going in the ground :) without a cap it's always going to get knocked over - sods law. We weren't asked to remove our bottle caps today going in for G block. I did find it weird sitting there instead of R block - it was like I was having to use the other side of my brain to watch the game. Great game I thought - worrying about Kone and Madson though. Just watched Kemper's goal again on YouTube and think he's going to turn out to be a great addition to the team

Hi all - long time LFW reader, finally decided to join ahead of the new Season.
Was great to be back at LR today. Felt like a good runout for the starting XI, interesting to see something different and an obvious pattern of play to deviate from the usual transitional 442. Fiorentina allowed us to have the ball and mostly stood off us but we used it well. Huge drop in the level on the ball when all the changes were made.
Lots to like about both Keepers and Kemper although he looks a bit slow, hopefully will gain half a yard with more match sharpness. Not a fan of Burrell out wide but now's the time to experiment with these things.
Thought Poku looked very sharp but seemed reluctant to really get in to a full sprint, felt like he could go past his man with ease though. Varane more positive with his passing so we know he has it in him.
Seen it mentioned but made a comment to my Dad that nobody seemed to want to pass to Hevertton, didn't seem to demand the ball either but Morgan ignored him nearly every time. I know Adamson came on at LW but I have never seen a player so off the level in the few cameos he's had, very strange signing.
Lastly, was encouraging to see Kolli at the game, the guy in the hat sat next to him was deep in convo with Nourry before KO. I'm so intrigued to know exactly what's going on with him, already conflicting posts from people who said they spoke to him today. If there is any ill feeling towards him from the people in power I would be trying to mend that immediately after Kone's injury and watching Alfie Lloyd try and play Football today. He reposted the final score graphic on Instagram earlier so hopefully that's some sort of signal that he still feels part of the first team picture. I'm a big fan of him, he should be the Poster Boy for the Clubs development ethos considering he's the only player we've solely produced that is anywhere near Championship quality and actually played for us since Richard Langley. Would be a huge shame either way if he was forced out the club, or he's not applying himself properly, depending on who you believe....!

Coming to clear a ball through that should have been easy enough if he could use his left foot down the line was worrying as he shuffled it out of touch with his right, oppo teams will notice & play on it..

One thing I would say about the injuries is that in pre season, you are going to come off even if minor. Lots of times last season, Kone looked like something had happened and he played on
He was hobbling badly today whe. He went off , same thing happened end of the first game in Vienna as well nobody near him and he’s on the ground

It was actually watching him, who did have his limitations, shall we say, do that, that made me realise how skilled professional footballers are. I was standing just to the right of the goal one day, trying to figure out why Roberts spent so much of the pre-match warm-up smacking the ball into his own net, when he missed and smacked the kid beside me in the face instead, causing the poor child to burst into tears.
Can't remember the score.
