Thanks Clive.

Hoping Julien can land a ‘Je suis away fatigue’ into an interview.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

The problem with Flavionomics is it doesn't take into account the benefit to the opposition.

Five draws = 5 points for us and 5 for them.

Two wins out of five = 6 points for us (+1) and 9 for them (+4).

Assuming a 54 point season and with everyone winning instead of drawing you could well end up in League 1.

You can see why Shotgun Bernie held the purse strings in that relationship!

Great report and spot on.

Do have a slight concern with the form of both a vale and Madsen. Both well off it at the moment.
Really need both of them to start clicking sooner rather than later.

JS was accurate in his description of Edwards…a “monster” out there yesterday. A snip at 4.5 million.

What I am seeing is an ability to cope and match the best sides and the belief which should come with that.

Two seasons ago we couldn’t cope with top ten teams, last season, top five teams. Now, West Ham aside, we should fear no one.

“QPR - with a manager dressed like an extra from Quadrophenia and a team that looked like it forgot its gear and had to have a rummage through lost property.”

How do you find these nuggets Clive. Worth the Patreon subscription on its own that.

Absolutely delighted with the point that will be even better if we can get the 3 next weekend as we should.

What I like is the dressing room it seems the best we have had for years everyone working hard and covering each others backs.

Great report . Vale probably not at his best but he’s going to score a screamer very soon .
So close in his last three games to getting one.

I suppose there is something in Briatore's thinking. After 3 games we had 7 points and Stoke had zero. Now after 7 games we have 12 points and Stoke have 10. So with us starting to draw matches and Stoke have started winning, they have clawed back 5 points on us even though we only lost once.

It's early in the season.

There's nothing between the teams yet, so big swings can come from a couple of good results.

Bolton are only three points off the playoffs and they're in 20th!

Not sure there's much to choose between West Ham and Southampton, tbh. If it wasn't for the deduction, Saints would be second by one goal difference.

They play each other next month, and we play both either side of that, so I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Southampton could have a new manager by then.

The PL has been investigating Eckert's conduct around Spygate. Given that he has put his hand up for it I can't understand why it has taken two months to reach a verdict.

I wonder if the PL will delay the announcement until the long international break to give Southampton time to get their house in order.

If Eckert does get a ban it might be doing Southampton a favour. Carlos Corberan is out of work now that he has got the elbow from Valencia.

Great summation

Vale does my nut in.
Really is a modern day Jimmy Smith.
Spends the whole game jogging around on the edge of the action and looking to do a one or two memorable things that tick his own personal box.
He’ll never ever run a game at this level and I do feel we start with 10.5 men when he’s selected

As for Ronnie Edwards.
Total.
Utter.
Class.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Anyone else get held up at the train station after? I had parked at Walsall station as I drove down from Yorkshire and trained in from there, was held for a ridiculous amount of time.

Vales contributions quite often go unnoticed or unappreciated. I agree he can get a lot better but the amount of times he has a very neat touch to turn over play or link it up is much more often than people think. He's only in his second season at this level having recovered from a broken back and he's literally just turned 23 in the last few days. A lot more to come.

Never knowingly right.

Cheers Clive.

Masterclass from the defence yesterday. The midfield, however, just looked like they were spinning their wheels at times. The ball got cleared and would not stick. Vale just pretty anonymous for most of the game, which highlights the influence Chair has in that position.

One to go before we can take everyone out of the firing line for a bit.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

A great point with a team showing great character. Haven't said that about a QPR team for God knows how long.

Edwards just superb and I don't for a second think he will be here next season.
Seen the criticism of Vale, and its a bit unfair considering the ball hardly reached him in the first half.

Poll: How is Nourry cooking so far ? 🤣

Thanks Clive agree a decent point.

Ronnie, JCS and Kamara were immense.

The referee was a homer thought and I hope we don't see him again too soon.

Yes, until we realised if you walked round the other side and pretended you were West Brom you could just walk straight in. Ridiculous situation that's never been the case there before and was completely needless.

Some comments from mates suggested WBA were not all that and there for the taking; but to be honest I can live with getting a point away, we just have to make sure we win the home matches.

Re the three game weeks and especially the the double away matches; if they're both up North and relatively close to each other, is it not worth just staying up there and finding some training facilities nearby, rather than dragging the players up and down motorways?

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

We are looking much more solid defensively this season, helps with a confident goalkeeper between the posts and 3 very good centre backs in Dunne, Edwards and Clarke-Salter. Also really like Kamara in midfield, strong ball winning player and you can tell the difference when he is on the pitch. Still need more from Poku and for me the jury is out on him, especially when he starts, goes missing a bit too much. I do like Vale but he needs to cut out those lazy passes and half hearted tackles, which sometimes puts us in trouble. But comparing our start this season to last season head and shoulders above that, and a good away draw at West Brom not to be sniffed at.

We were at the front and the bloke was on a total power trip, the police were even trying to say maybe let a few in. Was ridiculous.

Totally needless. Been going there for years, walked straight onto the tram afterwards no issues. Somebody somewhere trying to justify their existence.

What got me was when he finally let us in we all ended up on the platform and train with West Brom fans anyway and not a hint of trouble.

At first I thought he was waiting for the 2:40 train to leave so they could clear the platform but he was just being a prat

Yes, it was zip that jacket right up and get your dodgy Brum accent ready time, but no one took any notice. I think the logic was to hold back the away fans until just before the next train came in to minimise interaction.

Absolutely agree he seems to be an automatic selection irrespective of regular poor contribution Blackburn away he was on the bench and we were much more effective in midfield without him the present injury situation makes resting him difficult but really needs to be benched again against Preston or if not certainly after this international break

Staying 'up north' Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights sounds like a positive idea.

However, players have lives and several have families. They accept being away from home a certain number of times but it may 'p*ss them off', if you increase that by say 12 or more days a season. Do that and you risk squad unity and performance. The Thursday would probably be a rest day anyway. They may get bored kicking their heels around the hotel and may be tempted to breach club rules or discipline. We don't know but there may even be something in their contracts that limits hotel stops. It's not just the players, it's the staff too, all that are involved in day to day first team training.

Then there's the additional cost as well. The club paying for three nights for up to thirty people, maybe more, and the hire of an additional training ground. Some of this additional expense may also have an effect on FFP.
