| England on 08:33 - Oct 7 with 1049 views | stevec | Remember all the stuff about him being a One Season Wonder, loved winding a Tottenham mate up about that, hard to believe it was twelve years since he was battling out Prem top scorer with Charlie and how those years have panned out. Doesn’t really get the plaudits he deserves, doesn’t have the aura of some classic CF’s who’s scoring ratio was nothing like his, doesn’t give it the big one, like so many lesser CF’s. Probably the finest scorer we’ve had at both league and international standard, a decent man who goes happily under the radar and lets his football do the talking. | | | |

There were points in the World Cup where it felt Kane and Bellingham were getting England through purely through force of will. The equaliser vs DR Congo was pure mentality monster stuff
| England on 09:45 - Oct 7 with 911 views | hoops_legend | Kane doesn't get to play San Marino and much as those in the past used to so actually I think there are more tougher games! I think hes Englands greatest every goalscorer without doubt | |

| England on 10:35 - Oct 7 with 771 views | Lblock | It is highly likely that for most of us we will see an England centre forward hit a century of goals and do it playing less than 150 games. That is pure history right there and needs to be drunken in and appreciated. It matters not who he is playing against, so called lesser teams with an 8 man block or the top 10 in FIFA rankings; those figures are beyond impressive. I just wish he'd left Spuds way before he did so he could have picked up more deserved silverware across his career. | |

| England on 10:39 - Oct 7 with 761 views | W4Hoop | Kane has also been outstanding for his club. He moved when he already had a wife and three kids, worked hard to settle with them in a new country and got on with his job. He stands out even at a club used to success. Bayern fans adore him. The model professional. | | | |

Too true. It seems some people just like to knock players for no particular reason. Next one will be he has scored goals playing against poor teams. Kane has bee absolutely brilliant for club and country. He will score over 100 goals for England which will be more than Rooney and Charlton combined. If he stays fit and continues to score goals, I think Kane will top 150 caps and play in the next World Cup, it's not as if good young goalscorers are queuing up to replace him.

He's aged 33 now so no reason why he couldn't be at the next World Cup, when you see what Messi and Ronaldo have managed. And so far he's also been lucky with injuries. Main concern is the succession planning for when he does hang up his boots.

| England on 11:29 - Oct 7 with 677 views | daveB | When he first broke in I think he was treated as a bit of a joke and a one season wonder, what he's done in his career is incredible. When they do the debate about greatest ever England player for me it's only him and Bobby Charlton in the equation now, Bellingham could join them soon. England won't be able to replace him just like Argentina won't be able to replace Messi, we'll just need to adapt and play differently. The England team is so exciting to watch so many really good players, probably still below France & Spain but the sustained run of going deep in tournaments is still a million times better than any period in our history, Kane is a massive part of that. | | | |

Including 25 penalties, (also missed 6 more). Without those he still has good stats of a more than a goal every other game but can’t compare to previous generations E.g. jimmy greaves was England’s designated penalty taker for EIGHT years, during that time England were not awarded a single penalty! He scored 44 in 57 appearances, if they’d doled out penalties back then like they do now his stats would have been more than a goal a game.

Somewhere in the bowels of this site's history is a post by me, responding to a rumour Kane was coming on loan here with "I'm sick of all these rubbish Spurs cast offs". I've always had the inverse Midas touch
| England on 13:27 - Oct 7 with 408 views | Clive_Anderson | He does all the simple stuff absolutely perfectly every time, positioning, off the ball movement, first touch, finishing, heading, link up play. He seems to just drift into space and finish effortlessly, makes it look like so easy like he's got more time than everyone else. A bit like Ray Wilkins combined with Alan Shearer. I can see him carrying on for another 4-5 years at the top level and getting close to Ronaldo's international record as he doesn't rely on pace or power. Jimmy Greaves is still the best English goalscorer for me though and our best player ever. [Post edited 7 Oct 13:28]

Jimmy Greaves 44 goals in 57 games, which equates to 96.49 over 125 games is the only one who has a better goal ratio. However, defences were probably more open then and would he have been able to keep that up over another 68 games. Kane is an amazing player. I really hope he wins the Ballon D'or.
