It's got a draw written all over it.

Poll: MOM from todays Teasing at Teesside?

Let in a last minute goal on Wednesday to prevent us from going 4th and today, we concede a late goal to drop to 9th.

No one was terrible (maybe Vale - I'm not a fan) but the team was well short of the recent high standards we've seen. We looked pretty ordinary throughout. I suspect there was some weariness in players' legs and not enough time to prep the game well.

The one criticism I do have is that we relied too much on Charles to set us up with his passes out from the back. That cannot be the default option the players resort to all the time.

Pathetic again. If this is the standard we’re well short.

Kone now dead. Killed by grass

We still have some real weaklings in this squad. I'm not sure how you can mount a serious challenge with our set up. And we are only a quarter of the way through the season. Until we get at least one recognised striker...we are going to be very frustrated at times.

Happy to say beaten by the better team who did us tactically, but I am so fuming with Varane and that gentle jog back for the 3rd absolutely disgusting I hope his team mates call him out. We desperately missed Madsen today and with Ronnie practically playing 3rd centre back midfield got over run and the full backs pegged back.

Look we have to be positive about the start we've made and go again against an incredibly tough home game. Kone had brace and extra strapping on that knee when he came on, its been months of this injury now maybe then need to bite the bullet and he has an op before it properly goes

We’ve been quite poor today, but the changes were too late and for me not effective enough.Think Vale should have come off for Madsen at halftime and Kolli is not an out and out 9!
Disappointing performance from the team and gaffer, well beaten

Not good enough.

Only player with any real credit for me is Ronnie Edwards, who played well again.

Some continue to disappoint — Vale has been poor all season and Poku still hasn’t really fulfilled the potential we know he has.

The goals we conceded were soft. Overall it was a shambles and nowhere near good enough. Players and staff need a long hard look at that performance.

Standards.

I have a horrible suspicion Obikwu is biblically poor, they know it, but can’t just have him disappear given he’s cost a transfer fee, so they’re doing everything possible to hide him in plain sight.

I think you are on to something 🤔

I honestly don't see how you can get out of this league without breaking the rules and spending big like Birmingham have and quite a few others. We can't compete against quality players. Im not saying we should go down that route BTW, it just gets on my tits that lots of other teams do it!!

AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!

Booking a couple of colonoscopies for next week….I don’t expect great or amazing, but seriously - try and put some basic effort and a sensible line up together, please.

Get beaten by a better team and leave it all on the pitch, then fine. W4nk about and can’t be arsed, not sure what you expect - several players might as well just phone in sick.

Birmingham played quite well, but mostly because we let them and they can finish. Summed up by a Harry from Mobland - ‘Hmmmm’

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Just watch Vale for the third goal. Ball is cut back behind him and he then decides to go to ground to block an imaginary shot. If he stayed on his feet there might have been some chance of him blocking the actual goal scoring shot.

Careful, there will be people on here saying you’re trying to turn him into a “boo-boy” before long.
The fact is that apart from that goal he scored on Wednesday he’s been almost completely useless this season and I’m baffled as to why JS insists on playing him for ninety minutes every single game.

Re passing there ball - and the buck - to Charles, they do that a lot, and today after a good start his kicking wasn't quite up to his usual brilliance. When the CBs didn't just ping it back to him, they were shuffling it back and forth along the line in a re-enactment of Warbs-ball.

I'm hoping today was just tiredness after a 3 game week.

But Stephan has to take some responsibility. Some of us were saying even before kick off that the Vale-Smyth-Poku combo was too powder puff away to a good side. Meanwhile his substitutions looked more like damage control than a genuine attempt to rescue the game.

Who knows? With a fit Madsen, Chair, Burrell and (don't laugh) Lampety this would look a very different side. But how often will we see that this season?

Disappointing performance. Brum the better side but didn't create much really - we wouldn't have scored either of the 1st two goals because they would have been free kicks for fouls on Kolli and Kamara. Ref gave a couple of soft free kicks to Roberts for similar contact as on Kolli and Kamara.

Brum centreback should have got a red - how is that tackle only a yellow when Cirkins was a red?

Extra mature cheddar......a simple cheese for a simple man

If they can't do half an hour they shouldn't be on the bench, so assuming Madsen could've done half an hour he absolutely should have been on.

Kone getting back to fitness (at some point) and Varane coming on was never going to change that game to the extent it needed.10 minutes for the other two at the end.

I'm all for JS having faith in his players but that was far too passive, and his team had the same look about them.

He's been great for us this season but that was fcuking irritating.

A bit down about today - a wake-up call? - but got to be really pleased with the progress Julien and his team are making overall.

Look, there were seasons gone by where the second tier was lauded as unpredictable. Not any more. The autumn leaves haven't really started to fall and you can confidently pick your top 8 right now: (in no partic order) West Ham, 'Boro, Brum, Wolves, Spycheats, Swansea, Wrexham and (yes) probably still Parachute Paymented Burnley. All with stronger, deeper, monied squads that can push from autumn through the winter months and on into spring.

For us, the prospect of a quiet season is probably likely - which would be both a disappointment and yet an achievement. So (stop laughing at the back) if ever we should turn our positive gaze to this mythical thing called the FA Cup competition this, imho, would be as good a season as any.

The second test against a team that are Premiership bound. We were excellent against WHU, but were definitely found out here.

2 more tough games coming up, neither of which will yield many points, I expect that we lose both. Then the real season begins in earnest for us. 16th, 12th or 08th. Time will tell..

Vale is facking awful though, isn't he?
