| Nourry on 18:17 - Oct 25 by Rangersw12 | We dropped 4.5 million on Edwards in January so for me we have spent a lot of money We should be finishing in the play offs this season and anything less is a failure imo nothing wrong with having some standards and it seems Jimmy Dunne agrees with me The only thing that will be holding us back will be keeping the squad fit. |
4.5 million well spent. He's gonna be worth double that in a years time.

100% agree a fantastic player Wouldn't surprise me if West Ham or someone similar offer us 10 million January

| Nourry on 16:11 - Oct 25 by ed_83 | I broadly agree with the general sentiment of this thread - whatever criticisms you can make of Nourry our recruitment’s definitely improved - but “no Celar type disasters” is wrong. Nourry was appointed Jan 2024, Celar signed July 2024. [Post edited 25 Oct 16:12]

Yup I should have said “ no more Celar type disasters”. Which sort of illustrates that he’s probably got things right this year & maybe it’s gonna be rosy, maybe even milk & honey ( ok I’ll settle for just the honey...).

Surely that’s a typo and should read ‘Celar-tape.’ Useful to hold things together when goals dry up or body parts need some support. Other brands available from most good stationery shops - and some shit ones too.

£4.5m is a lot to us but chicken feed for middle of the pack teams like Brum, Stoke and Wrexham. That would prob be a fairly average spend on a player for them.

Weren't we sponsored by them once? I couldn't bring myself to buy a shirt with that on it.

Where we are in 10 years will tell us everything we need to know, as we won't be a sustainable Premier League team in this stadium as it is, so I suspect the ground will be a major piece of the jigsaw. I've been a critic, but many things have improved, I'm happy to admit it, but he can't be judged on a 5-0 win or even 3 seasons, it needs to be more long term.

Splits opinion because plenty of people won’t have him as a person. Down to how he got the job in the first place, how he presented his work history, how he/his management have treated various QPR people. Do the ends justify the means? Supporters tend to have short memories when we’re winning and long when we’re not. Right now it’s tough almost churlish to give him a hard time because we’re doing well, young squad, popular manager, as good as squad as we’ve had for years.

Sorry not a fan hes hes changed the club for the better but his remit is the same as Les etc before buy cheap sell big ,so far that side of things hasn’t happened , yet S see how the balance sheet looking in the next accts esp if we don’t sell some young’s uns for a big profit if it’s show we are getting to more self sustainable then I’ll give him credit , until then with the money we have spent , the jury is out for me

I dont know if weve spent anymore then previous seasons, but our squad looks the best its been for over 10 years. Maybe the injuries are letting us down or so we thought. But the strength in depth is getting us through it. I didnt see the Brum game, but ive watched most of the others, and there's a vast improvement. Massive props should go towards Julien Stephan of course.

Indeed we were. I've got a Dennis the Menace Rangers shirt with a Sellotape logo low down on the back. One of my QPR supporting friends had one too and his non-QPR mates were forever telling him he had something stuck to the back of his shirt .

All the undoubted good work that has been done and is being done is being undermined by one key failing. Everybody knows it, everybody can see it, we talk about it every week on here - we've got a good team, but we can't get it on the pitch. Why they don't do anything about it... pfff. It's bizarre.

To be finishing games with 10 men is diabolical on multiple occasions. It's his huge cross to bare.

| Nourry on 08:05 - Nov 2 with 556 views | gazza1 | Nourry has given the Manager the tools to get the job done, its down to JS & his coaching staff plus the players and with a 'helping hand' from us the supporters to ensure the job is done. The job done imho is a play-off position. | | | |

100% this is holding us back. We may have better players this season but unless they're available to play it means nothing. On paper the squad looks the strongest it's been in years, yet we're still constantly missing key players. Even over here in Australia the A League sides have tiny squads and four sides are doing long trips across Asia for the Asia Champions League on top of weekend league games, and they still seem to get through with far fewer injuries than we do. Why won't the CEO do something about this? It's the one area that keeps undermining everything else.

I have no knowledge of the back room fitness team so I am unable to comment but I am surprised by the amount of adverse comments about them &, despite the top man being best mates with Nourry, he is still here........BUT i do not know. What is for sure, we have a squad good enough to get close this season.
